Principles of an Internal Combustion Engine.

I. Introduction Internal Combustion engines are all around us it is what drives our world.
For having such a huge impact on our lives it operates on a surprisingly simple and basic
function, and principle. Something that burns will expand at a rapid pace, and an internal
combustion engine captures this rapid expansion, and converts it into rotary motion

II. Objectives, Goals and Major Message:

1. Understand what is meant internal combustion engine.
2. Understand the difference between 4 and 2 stroke engines.
3. Know the three things needed for a gasoline engine to run.
4. Advantages and disadvantages of 2 and 4 stroke engines.
5. The difference between diesel and gasoline fuels, and engines.

III. Lesson Strategy

This lesson will be presented in the classroom, using parts as examples, and online
resources for demonstrations.
IV. Instructional Materials
Computer, and projector.
V. Tools and Materials
Cutaway motor

VI. Procedure
1. Explain what an internal combustion engine is and how it converts an explosion
into a rotary motion.
2. Explain the three things needed for a gasoline engine needs to run.
