Broad guidelines/ rules -

• Each team should comprise a minimum of 2 girls playing along with 1 girl & 1 boy as
substitutes.

• In league matches, substitute players can only field i.e. she/he cannot bat or bowl in
place of the original player.

• Only when a player is in the playing squad will he/she be considered a full player.

• A girl will be substituted by a girl and vice versa. A sub will be counted as playing for the
purpose of minimum sports if she/he plays a full game.

• Apart from the rules specifically mentioned, other common cricketing rules will apply.

Bowling Rules -

• League matches will be 7 overs an inning. Each player must bowl one over.

• Final match will be 8 overs an inning wherein only 1 player (Girl/Boy) can bowl two overs.

• In all the matches, the first over should be bowled by a girl.

• 1 run will be declared for 3 dead balls in an over. Also, if the second bounce is inside the
crease then it will not be considered as a dead ball.

• Each wide ball will be declared as 1 run.

• While bowling, the bowler must bowl from within the marked box or else it will be
declared as a no-ball.

• The speed limit will be the umpire's call. The umpire will give a warning for the first time
after that if called for speed by the umpire it will be considered a no-ball and will be non-
opposable.

• Each no-ball will be followed by a free hit.

• In all the matches, the last ball of each over will be a Magic Ball. The runs scored on a
Magic Ball will be doubled. If a batsman gets out, then 5 runs will be deducted from the
total.

• There will be no mini-overs. Each player will bowl his/her whole over.
Batting Rules -

• If the batsman hits the ball and it touches the boundary net directly or first hits the net
above ground and then hits the boundary net (behind the umpire), it will be awarded as
six, & otherwise if the ball touches the net it will be declared as four.

• If the batsman hits the ball and it touches the net above ground and a one-hand catch
(without any support) is taken, then the batsman will be given out. If a player juggles the
ball and catches the ball in one hand or passes it on to another player then it will be a
not-out.

• If the ball touches the side net and the fielder catches the ball directly or in one hand it
will not be given out.

• Opening at the striker’s end should be done by a girl.

• The batsman must retire on scoring an individual 30 runs in each inning, and she/he can
bat again after all other players (including retired players not making 30 runs) are out. No
player can be retired in any condition other than them completing 30 runs.

• A batsman will not be given out for LBW.

• If only one player is left to bat, then she/he can only play with a dead runner.

• If the ball directly goes inside the goal post which is opposite to the batting side, it will be
declared as 8 runs.

• No Fiber bats are allowed. Teams are encouraged to bring their own bats.

• If one run is declared by the umpire, in that case, the strike would not be allowed to be
changed.

• If the ball goes into the banner or outside the turf from the side nets (not entrance), 1 run
will be declared.

Fielding Rules -

• The batsman can run for runs if there is an overthrow.

• If the overthrown ball hits the net behind the umpire, it will be considered as four.

• Maximum 2 players should be allowed behind the umpire. Keeper+1 player should be
behind the batting stumps.

Tie Breaker Rules:

• In the event of a tie-breaker, there will be a super over which will have only one bowler
(boy/girl) from each team and only two wickets from each team.

• The rest of the rules will be exactly the same as mentioned above.

• If the tie-breaker is again tied then the game will head for a ball-out until one team wins.

A ball-out refers to a game in which each team chooses three bowlers to throw the ball directly
at the stump once each. The team with the most hits to the stumps will win the game. The ball
has to be thrown in accordance with previous bowling rules.
