Understanding Angles and Rays

The document defines angles and their types, including acute angles (less than 90°), right angles (exactly 90°), obtuse angles (greater than 90° but less than 180°), and straight angles (exactly 180°). It explains the components of an angle, such as rays and the vertex. Each type of angle has specific characteristics and measurements.

ANGLES

2. Acute Angle
An angle is made up of two rays that begin at a common point. An angle that is less than 90° is called an acute angle.
A ray is part of a line. It has an endpoint and goes on forever in some

Types of Angles
1. Right Angle
A right angle is exactly 90°.
A right angle is marked by drawing a square at the vertex.

4. Straight Angle
A straight angle is exactly 180°.
A straight angle forms a straight line.
