Sample Level 6:
Hi Bob
How are you? I am doing good by the way. I wanted to ask you something. How about we throw a
party for Erica? She has been very down and needs to get something to cheer her up and I really
wanna cheer her up with this party idea. What do you think? I feel that the pub on Main Street
would be a great choice because she loves drinking and wants to eat wings pretty much all the time
we hang out. The pub has all that and I think she will like it And can you contact the rest of the
classmates for me? you can tell them that I want this party to be at the pub and that they should
probably be there around 7 pm on Saturday this week. Let’s all focus on erica that day instead of
ourselves. So please tell the friends that this party is all gonna be about Erica.
Thanks!
Sample Level 9+:
Dear Bob,
It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I am exhilarated with an idea that just popped up in my head about Erica’s
ill mental condition; I have the perfect fix!
I am assuming you already know; Erica has been on a rant lately on how she resents this country and
would rather go back. She evidently does not comprehend what she is missing here! As her friends,
let’s remind her that!

How about we hold a party for her at King’s Pub on Main Street? Not only would it be an awesome
spot to loosen up, it will also be easy on our pockets when we treat her.
Could you go ahead and collaborate with the others and circle back with me regarding the time you
all come up with. Remember, to keep the spotlight of the party on Erica since we need to cheer her
up mainly.
Get back to me if you have any alternative ideas. I will be glued to my phone awaiting your response.
Best regards,
Johnathan Wilson

QUESTION 2:
Your town’s local government wants to create a new entertainment facility for its local
residents. They have the option of either a zoo or a drive-in.
Write between 150-200 words and explain why your choice is best suited for the
residents and to make the best use of their leisure time.
Option A: the town’s government should build a zoo
Option B: the town’s government should build a drive-in
Sample Level 6:
In my opinion, we should build a drive-in. There are a lot of reasons for it.
Firstly, there will be a great chance to socilize and make friends and enjoy the movie at the same
time. These movies can also be a learning experience if they are educational movies. It also will give
the local shops and businesses around the area a lift as they will have more customers going to them
from the drive-in. These could be the nearby hot dog stands and the nearby coffee shops, etc. I don’t
really like the idea of the zoo because animals are innocent and they have rights and locking them up
for our entertainment is a very bad thing. That’s why, it should be banned and I will not support it.
Because of everything I have said in the above paragraph, I am very sure that it should not happen. A
drive-in will be the best for the local community.

Body 2- criticize the other opinion
Conclusion-rephrase your opinion
(try to use “for example”)
The choice between a zoo and a drive-in certainly presents a complex scenario. I opine that the drive-
in would have more pros over cons to it.
To begin with, drive-ins provide a top-notch opening for people to mingle with each other and foster
friendships. Furthermore, the experience is one of a kind. People are limited to the experiences their
cars provide; with the exception of road trips, there are not a multitude of activities individuals can
do in their cars. Watching a movie in the coziness of your car clears that dilemma.
Nevertheless, if the zoo was chosen, it will go against all basic moral codes. Considering animal rights
and their emotional well-being, it would be amoral to watch animals just for the sake of humoring
ourselves. For example, every animal in captivity is or has been separated from their families; if we
met the same fate, there would be an outrage.
Conclusively, with the welfare of animals in mind on top of the numerous advantages of the drive-in,
the latter is worth the consideration.
