This is a story about the mysterious journey of a captain with determination to prove his

mighty Theory

For now, the Magallanes, also known as Ferdinand Magellan, with five ships along his Fleet,
entered the worlds of Antonio Pigafetta. We will now witness their joys and grief.

Magellan asked for permission from the king of Portugal to go around the world and prove it and
to find spices, but they did not allow him, so he thought of asking the king of Spain for help

The morning of March 16, 1521, when Magellan's group saw the island of Zamal which in
today's time is known as Samar this event from the point of view of Europeans is the so-called
discovery of the Philippines

Dian: Capitán!

Rodmark (Magellan): Reyes!

Dian: There's an island there. I think no one is living on that island. Maybe it's safer to land on
that island.

Rodmark (Magellan): Dile a todos que sigan

Dian: ¡Muy bien, Capitán!

(Scene 2: Nakarating at nakatingin sa island)

Rodmark (Magellan): Enrique, where are we?

Enrique (Andrei): We’re in Zamal Isla, Capitán!

Rodmark (Magellan): Let's rest for a while

(Scene 3: Nagahanap pa ng island)

Narrator: After a short rest, Magellan's group set sail again and they reached Homonhon Island

(Habang nasa bangka)

Rodmark (Magellan): I ordered not to do or say anything when we get to the island. Do not show
any aggressiveness but stay alert, are we clear?
Crew (Dian): Si, Capitán!

[Music] (Scene 4: Nakarating na sa Homonhon Island at sinalubong ng mga natives (Whena) ng


island)

(Exit sa scene)

(Scene 5: Nakaupo ang leader (Junie) katabi ang kaniyang kapatid at mga babae. Pumunta si
Boy (Rhona) dun sa leader)

Boy (Rhona): Leader, the Spaniards are here!

Leader (Junie): All right, get ready!

Brother (Yllaisa): My dear brother, can we relinquish those, Spaniards?

Leader (Junie): Don’t worry, my dear brother. Our men have already made preparations when
something bad happens, but first, let's make friends with them.

(Scene 6: Sinalubong ng Leader kasama ang mga babae si Magellan)

Leader (Junie): Oh Brothers! Welcome to our Island!

Rodmark (Magellan): Reyes, llama a Enrique para que interprete lo que dicen.

Dian (Reyes): Okay, Capitán!

(Alis si Dian sa scene)

(Pasok si Andrei sa scene)

Enrique (Andrei): You need me, Kapitan!

Rodmark (Magellan): What does he say?


Enrique (Andrei): He said that we are welcome to their island, Captain.

Rodmark (Magellan): Muchas gracias amigo, podemos depender de nuestra amistad.

Enrique (Andrei): Our captain said thank you for welcoming and accepting us on your island.
We hope we can deepen our friendship with each other.

Leader (Junie): Don't worry my friend no problem then.

Enrique (Andrei): He said that we don’t need to worry about it, Capitan. Because there is no
problem

Leader (Junie): Comrades, please prepare food and drinks for our foreign friends.

(Scene 7: Inabot ng mga babae ang comb, mirror and small bells at mga prutas at inumin sa
mga Spaniards at kay Magellan)

Narrator: The natives who welcomed them were kind. In exchange for this favor, the Spanish
gave some equipment such as a comb, a mirror, and small bells.

(Scene 8: Nakipagkamay si Magellan at mga Spaniards kay Raja Colambo (Mark) )

When the first meeting between Filipinos and Spaniards took place, Raja Colambo (Mark)
agreed with his partners to indicate their friendship.

(Scene 9: Nagamisa si Padre Valderrama (Karl) kayna Magellan at Raja Colambo at mga
Spaniards at natives ng island)

After two days on March 31, 1521, Padre Valderrama held a Christian mass at Magellan's order
on the Li Massawa coast as a sign of Magellan screaming to this Philippine land.

He called that meeting the island of San Lazaro in the Name of the King of Spain.

Aside from the desire of the Spanish to discover new lands, they also wanted to spread
Christianity.
[Music]

(Scene 10: Bininyagan ni Karl si Raja Colambo, Raja Jumabon and Wife and natives of Cebu.

Together with Raja Colamobo, Magellan's group went to Cebu on April 7, 1521. Here Magellan
and his men befriended his leader, Raja Jumabon (Lee).

This friendship was so good that the natives including Raja Jumabon and her wife were baptized
into Christianity.

Raja Jumabon (Lee) was the first Native King of the Philippines to convert the Roman
catecholism. After he, his wife, and some people in Cebu were baptized into Roman catecholism
by the priests of Magellan.

(Scene 11: Nagausap si Raja Sula at Magellan at nagplano ang pagatake sa Mactan)

Narrator: While Magellan was in Cebu a dispute arose between Raja Sula and Lapu – Lapu.
Because of this, Raja Sula immediately went to Cebu to ask for help from Magellan bringing the
news that Lapu – Lapu did not accept the power of the Spaniards,

After hearing this news, Magellan's group decided to go to Mactan.

Rodmark (Magellan): To Mactan!

(Exit sa lahat sa scene)

April 27, 1521 – The Battle of Mactan

(Scene 14: Nakapose si Lapulapu at mga alagad niya habang nakataas ang kanilang mga
spada)
Despite this, Lapulapu still firmly refused to recognize the power of the Spanish in Mactan.
Thinking that they could handle Lapulapu, also because they had more modern war equipment
and more extensive fighting skills, they atta cked the Lapulapu group. It was this battle that
killed Magellan himself. Lapulapu’s victory in the battle of Mactan can be said to be the first
successful uprising of the Filipinos against the foreign invaders.
