This research was motivated as follows. First, students have difficulty
expressing their utterances to others. Second, lack of students' ability to convey
thoughts and feelings to others through speech. Three, students did not know the
effectiveness of the study. The Use of Constructivism Techniques on the Speaking
Ability of Grade XI Students in MAN 1 Sungai Penuh.
The type of this research is quantitative research using the quasi-
experimental method. The description of this study is that One Group Pretest-
Postest Design in this design has a pretest, before being given treatment. Thus the
results of treatment can be known more accurately, because it can compare with
the situation before being treated. The variables in this study are two as follows,
independent variables (X) and dependent variables (Y). The data in this study were
the scores of the speaking ability test results before and after using constructivism
learning techniques in Grade XI MAN 1 Sungai Penuh.
The results of this study are (a) the results of the ability to speak before
using constructivism techniques of grade XI students of MAN 1 Sungai Penuh
student obtain an average score of 69,16 which is more than qualified. (b) the
results of speaking ability after using constructivism techniques of Grade XI MAN
1 Sungai Penuh students obtained an average score of 76.38 which was of good
quality (c) significant influence of Constructivism Technique on Speech Ability of
Grade XI MAN 1 Sungai Penuh
