Setting Out for Signature Skyz Apartments

The document outlines the construction project for Signature Skyz Apartments, which will consist of a nine-floor above-ground structure and a four-level underground basement in Kololo. It details the approach for setting out the building layout, including the use of specific equipment and tools, as well as the systematic steps to ensure accurate positioning and elevation marking. Attached are the setting out drawings and layout coordinate data for the project.

LAYOUT OF PRECISE BOUNDARY EXTENTS AND PROPOSED

BUILDING LOCATION FOR Signature skyz Appartments.

Project Description

The Construction project involves the establishing of a

nine floor above ground structure and a four level
underground basement. The construction project is
located in Kololo along Kololo hill drive.
For the purpose of setting out, the scope of work
includes;
i. Staking of points and lines of the critical
building elements like columns and wall lines
ii. Transfer of reference elevation marks to ensure the
construction elements are established at the
correct design levels.

Equipment, tools and documents

i. Approved working structural and architectural

drawings
ii. Leica TCRP1200 total station
iii. Dumpy/ Digital Level
iv. 100m steel Measuring Tape
v. 1kg roofing nails with 1 roll warning ribbon
vi. 4X2” Wooden profile boards
vii. 1 roll nylon string line and marking chalk/ Lime

Approach

Below is a systematic approach to the layout of the

design structure;
i. Site clearance and making ready for setting out
works.

1
ii. The total station is to be set up over a free station
and oriented north as per working drawings layout
with an assumed coordinate reference system. The
corners of the existing boundary are to be captured
and plotted in CAD software.
iii. This plotted data is to be superimposed on the scaled
S.I metric design structural and architectural
drawings with emphasis on the provided setting out
drawing. A check is made for consistencies between
ground plot limits and the limits provided in the
design drawing to ensure proper positioning.
iv. Extraction of coordinate data for the grid centers
at the columns from the design working drawings and
importation of the data into the Total station
equipment.
v. Staking out the extracted coordinate data on ground
with the assistance of the prism target ensuring
correct bearing and distance to be located for each
point.
vi. After marking all the grid centers on ground a check
is to be made for the right angles, diagonal lengths
and other linear dimensions following the whole to
part principle.
vii. After satisfying the wall lines and excavation limits
are to be marked with lime.
viii. Profile boards are to be established and the marks
transferred to them by plumb bob from ground marks.
Clearly label the profile marks by grid letter and/or
offset dimension.
ix. Set up the dumpy level and transfer the elevation
marks from Kololo Hill drive road to the profile
boards and mark the reference floor level on the
boundary perimeter wall as permanent reference.

Conclusion

Attached is the setting out drawing and Layout coordinate

data.
