The Script

Narrator - Jonathan

Niki - Niki
Bob - Moris
(Niki and Bob have a careless and dismissive attitude towards Mumi)

Mumi - Muhammet
(Mumi becomes more and more anger and frustrated throughout)

Narrator: Bob, Mumi and Niki are three professional script writers. These 3
friends are tasked by their boss with writing a script for a new movie, The
Haunted Village. This will be the first in a trilogy that is expected to break all box
office records. Soooooooo, the pressure is on …..

Niki: Hey guys, our boss is asking us to write the script for a movie about a
haunted village.

Mumi: It’s got to be perfect. The boss is under a tsunami of pressure to make
sure this movie is an overnight hit. And you know if the pressure is on the boss…
the pressure is even more on us!!!

Bob:I think we should copy from another movie and just change some words. The
stress is too much, the time is not enough, and the pay is certainly not worth the
pressure.

Mumi: Don`t you think that’s a serious copyright infringement! The boss would be
furious if he found out we copied. If we don't give credit, we will get into serious
trouble, get fired, even get jail time!
Niki: Yeah Mumi has a point, buuuuuut I think it’s a shortcut worth taking. Let’s
take the chance and act like we didn't know that we copied. Like it’s our own
original work.

Mumi: You think that will work? This is our last chance at making our dream
career come true. We don’t want to mess it up.

Bob: They won't find out if we just change enough things. If we make it different
enough, nobody will notice.

Mumi: I am not in if you two are gonna copy. I’ve got to put my foot down. I don’t
believe we are respecting ourselves, or respecting the original work if we do this.
We will be no better than common criminals. Stealing.

Niki: Why? It's not like anybody is gonna find out. There’s nothing wrong in a
little bit of copying.

Bob: Exactly!! Why would I do all that work? When I can just copy Mumi’s.

Mumi: What do you mean “why’’ We went to school for 20 years to be writers.
Let’s have some respect.

Narrator:

So the 3 friends parted ways and made their own movies.

Niki was sued and had to pay a fine of $1,000,000. He will spend the rest of his life
trying to pay this off.

(Niki is seen giving all his money to a debt collector)


Bob had problems launching his movie as it became clear he stole from another
script. He lost his job, got fired and was sent to jail. They both lost all respect as
script writers, but most importantly, lost all respect as people.

(Bob is taken off stage in handcuffed by 2 police)

Mumi took time and hard work to complete his script, but it paid off. The movie
became a huge success gaining him respect among his peers and all around the
world.

(Mumi is seen shaking hands with his boss and celebrating his success)
