What is it ?
Human Rights Day (HRD) is
celebrated annually around the world
on 10 December every year.
The date was chosen to honor the
United Nations General Assembly's
adoption and proclamation, on 10
December 1948, of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights(UDHR).
Human rights
What are human rights ?
Human rights are basic freedoms
and protections that belong to
everyone, simply because they are
human. They include rights like the
right to life, freedom of speech,
equality, and access to education.
Human rights help ensure people live
with dignity, safety, and fairness.
Basic Human rights
What are they ?
Life – Right to live safely.
Freedom – Of speech, thought,
and religion.
Equality – Fair treatment for all.
Education – Access to learning.
Work – Fair pay and safe jobs.
Health – Basic care and shelter.
Privacy – Protection of personal
life.
Justice – Fair treatment under law.

Who was him?
Nelson Mandela (1918–2013) was a South African
leader who fought against apartheid, a system of
racial discrimination. After 27 years in prison, he
became South Africa's first Black president in 1994,
promoting peace and equality. He won the Nobel
Peace Prize in 1993 and is remembered as a
symbol of justice and forgiveness.

Nelson Mandela is important for human rights
because he led the fight against apartheid in
South Africa and spent 27 years in prison for his
beliefs. As the first Black president, he worked for
equality and reconciliation, inspiring global
movements for justice and human rights.
