The Beatles: band history


The Beatles were an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960.
They are the most influential band of all time.

They had the nickname "the Fab Four" and by early


1964 became international stars, leading the "British
Invasion" of the United States pop market.
The Beatles: band history

• They are known in a contest in Manchester as Johnny &


The Moondogs. Later they would change it to The Silver
Beatles and finally The Beatles.
• Their first album is "My Bonnie", released that same
1961. In the Beatles there was no singer or leader
because the four members of the group could sing. Two
years later, five of his songs were already among the top
five on the US chart, generating a fame of millions of
fans around the world and the publication of albums full
of "hits" such as «Yellow Submarine» or «Let it Be».

There were four members of this band:

• John Lennon
• Paul McCartney
• George Harrison
• Ringo Starr
John Lennon
• John Winston Lennon was a British artist,
musician, singer-songwriter, activist,
composer, producer, writer and pacifist. He
was the leader and founder of the band rock
The Beatles and considered one of the most
influential artists of the 20th century.

• He was born in Liverpool. He formed the band
The Quarrymen in 1956, which later in 1960
would become The Beatles. When the group
was separated, Lennon started a solo career,
releasing several albums, most of them
express their socialist and pacifist ideas. He
was murdered at 1980.
Paul McCartney
English singer, multi-instrumentalist
and composer. He gained worldwide
fame as a member of the Beatles,
and his songwriting partnership with
John Lennon is one of the most
celebrated in history. After the group
broke up in 1970, he started a solo
career and formed the band Wings
with his first wife, Linda Eastman.
McCartney has been recognized as
one of the most successful
songwriters and performers of all
time.
George Harrison
• On February 25, 1943, George Harrison was
born. The child was always interested in
music, but it was not until he was 12 years
old when he had his first acoustic guitar.
• After the separation of The Beatles, George
Harrison put all his interest in recording his
first solo [Link] this album you can find
songs like “What is life” or “My Sweet Lord”.
• In the early 2000s, George Harrison was
convalescing from the cancer that had
attacked him in previous years. For this
reason, he decided to move from New York
to Los Angeles, where he finally died on
November 29, 2001, at the young age of 58.
Ringo Starr
• Richard Starkey, better known as Ringo Starr, is a British musician, multi-
instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and actor. He was the drummer for the rock
band The Beatles. Before joining The Beatles, Starr was a member of another
Liverpool band, Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. In August 1962, Pete Best went
out and Ringo took his place. In addition to playing the drums, Starr participated
as a vocalist on several songs covered or created by the group.
• After the breakup of The Beatles in 1970, Starr began a solo musical career with
commercial successes in the 1970s. He also participated in films such as El
cavernícola.
The Beatles: The final
• In April 1970 Paul McCartney announced the dissolution of the group.
Everyone expected a possible reunion, but with the murder of
Lennon in 1980, it was not possible. In the mid-nineties the other
three members decided to complete two songs composed by
Lennon in the seventies. Harrison later died in December 2001.
