GENERAL INTRODUCTION
Everyone said that “knowledge is power” but I like to say that
“Applied knowledge is power”. There is vast difference between theatrical
knowledge and practical knowledge. So, to get the practical knowledge. I
am doing this project on the “Dharmaj Crop Guard limited”. Industry is
backbone of nation. The term of industry refers to the part of business
activates which concerns itself with raising productivity processing etc.
India want industrialization and it’s all states also try the best for the same
way. India government is encouraging to develop the many small scale
industries. So, “Dharmaj Crop Guard Limited” is also one of such industry
which located in Ahmedabad.
India is first developing nation. In this development, Gujarat State
proved that it’s lion contribution. This dream comes true only due to
leaders of Gujarat state. The Gujarat government has taken steps in the
direction of industrial unit development, concessions, benefits and
incentives, monetary as well as non-monetary offered to attract the
industries and various. Schemes, implementation of industrial policies.
After considering geographical and location advantage, economic and
manufacturing feasibility of the project. Availability of raw material, ready
infrastructural facility and incentives offered by Govt. of Gujarat, promoters
have decided to start proposed project on pharmaceutical bulk drugs. The
promoters of the proposed project have formed a partnership firm under
the name and study

PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT AND
PRODUCTS
INTRODUCTION:
Production department is department, which is concerned with the
production activity. Production is a term, which is synonymous with
manufacturing, transforming , processing, fabrication etc. It is a process
where in materials are converted into finished goods. These goods are
either consumed by the consumers or are used by other factories or
industries for further processing.
Generally, production process will start when the raw materials are
available in the industry and production process stopped when finished
product being prepared. Thus, in short planning for production is the main
activity of the production department.
All the kind of the process is done inside of the factory location
Dharmaj Crop Guard Ltd. is involved in manufacturing of different
pesticides and crop related products which are broadly categorised by

QUALITY ASSURANCE
Quality assurance (QA) is a way of preventing mistakes and defects in
manufactured products and avoiding problems when delivering products
or services to customers; which ISO 9000 defines as "part of quality
management focused on providing confidence that quality requirements
will be fulfilled". This defect prevention in quality assurance differs subtly
from defect detection and rejection in quality control and has been referred
to as a shift left since it focuses on quality earlier in the process (i.e., to the
left of a linear process diagram reading left to right).
The terms "quality assurance" and "quality control" are often used
interchangeably to refer to ways of ensuring the quality of a service or
product. For instance, the term "assurance" is often used as
follows: Implementation of inspection and structured testing as a measure
of quality assurance in a television set software project at Philips
Semiconductors is described. The term "control", however, is used to
describe the fifth phase of the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control
(DMAIC) model.
19
Historically, defining what suitable product or service quality means has
been a more difficult process, determined in many ways, from the
subjective user-based approach that contains "the different weights that
individuals normally attach to quality characteristics," to the value-based
approach which finds consumers linking quality to price and makingoverall
conclusions of quality based on such relationship.
20
QUALITY CONTROL
Quality control (QC) is a process by which entities review the quality of all
factors involved in production. ISO 9000 defines quality control as "A part
of quality management focused on fulfilling quality requirements".
This approach places emphasis on three aspects (enshrined in standards
such as ISO 9001):
1. Elements such as controls, job management, defined and well
managed processes, performance and integrity criteria, and
identification of records
2. Competence, such as knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications
3. Softelements,suchaspersonnel, integrity, confidence, organizationalc
ulture, motivation, teamspirit,[Link] is a
major component of quality control, where physical product is
examined visually (or the end results of a service are analyzed).
Product inspectors will be provided with lists and descriptions of
unacceptable productdefects suchas cracks orsurface blemishes
4. for example.
The quality of the outputs is at risk if any of these three aspects is
deficient in any way.
21
RESEARCH AND DEVLOPMENT
Research and development (R&D, R+D, or R'n'D), known
in Europ as research and technological development (RTD), refers to
innovative activities undertaken by corporations or governments in
developing new services or products, or improving existing services or
products. Research and development constitutes the first stage of
development of a potential new service or the production process.
R&D activities differ from institution to institution, with two primary
models of an R&D department either staffed by engineers and tasked with
directly developing new products, or staffed with industrial scientists and
tasked with applied research in scientific or technological fields, which may
facilitate future product development. R&D differs from the vast majority of
corporate activities in that it is not intended to yield immediate profit, and
generally carries greater risk and an uncertain return on investment.
However R&D is crucial for acquiring larger shares of the market through
the marketisation of new products.

MARKETING INFORMATION
MARKETING
What exactly is marketing and why is it important to you as an
entrepreneur? Simply stated, marketing is everything you do to place your
product or service in the hands of potential customers.
It includes diverse disciplines like sales, public relations, pricing,
packaging, and distribution. In order to distinguish marketing from other
related professional services, S.H. Simmons, author and humorist, relates
this anecdote.
Marketing is your strategy for allocating resources (time and money) in
order to achieve your objectives (a fair profit for supplying a good product
or service).
Marketing is communicating the value of a product or service
to customers, for the purpose of selling that product or service.
Marketing techniques include choosing target markets through market
analysis and market segmentation, as well as understanding consumer
behavior and advertising a product's value to the customer. From a societal
point of view, marketing is the link between a society's material
requirements and itseconomic patterns of response. Marketing satisfies
these needs and wants through exchange processes and building long-term
relationships. Marketing blends art and applied science
23
DEFINITON OF MARKETING:
The management process through which goods and services move
from concept to the customer. It includes the coordination of
four elements called the 4 P's of marketing:
(1) identification, selection and development of a product,
(2) determination of its price,
(3) selection of a distribution channel to reach the customer's place, and
(4) development and implementation of a promotional strategy.
Dharmaj CROP Guard LTD.. is doing various marketing activities for the
selling of its products like television advertisements, print media, posters
radio advertisements, direct selling through sales force etc.
24
COMPANY PLANTS

MARKETING INFORMATION
Agrochemicals are specially engineered chemical products for us in
agreeculture in order to enhance crop productivity and protect the crops
from pests, insects, weeds, fungi and others. Agrochemicals can be
produced in both chemical as well as biological methods. Synthetic agro
chemicals are a threat and are gradually being replaced by bio based
pesticides and fertilazers. The Company has been successful in establishing
an extremely good urban as well as rura l presence through the
distribution channels.
“Marketing is social and managerial process by which individual and
groups obtain what they need and what through creating, offering and
exchanging product of value with others”.
The distribution channels have played a significant role in making
DHARMAJ a good agrochemical industry. Marketing through marketing,
company got profit. There are different systems of marketing. Today,
marketing is being done by computer. Marketing of DCGL is spread in all
India level.

Emamectin, produced by the bacterium Streptomyces avermitilis, belongs to the
avermectin family of compounds all of which exhibit toxicity for nematodes, arthropods,
and several other pests. The benzoate salt of emamectin in particular has found
widespread use as an insecticide and is approved by the EPA for use in prevention of
emerald ash borer in ash trees. Emamectin is derived from avermectin B1, also known
as abamectin, a mixture of the natural avermectin B1a and B1b. Emamectin has also
shown promising applications in the eradication of fish lice and in fish
farming. Emamectin was invented by Regina D. Leseota, Pradip K. Mookerjee, John
Misselbrook, and Robert F. Peterson Jr. and patented on September 25, 2001, approved
August 22, 2002. It was developed as a pesticide by Merck and Company and first
marketed back 1997 in Israel and Japa

Toxicology and metabolism
Emamectin works as a chloride channel activator by binding gamma aminobutyric
acid (GABA) receptor and glutamate-gated chloride channels disrupting nerve signals
within arthropods.[ The compound stimulates the release of GABA from the synapses
between nerve cells and while additionally increasing GABA’s affinity for its receptor on
the post-junction membrane of muscle cells in insects and arthropods. The stronger
binding of GABA increases the cells permeability to chloride ions within the cell due to
the hypotonic concentration gradient. Neurotransmission is thereby reduced by
subsequent hyperpolarisation and the elimination of signal transduction.
Uses:
Emamectin is widely used in controlling lepidopterous pests (order of insects that as
larvae are caterpillars and as adults have four broad wings including butterflies, moths,
and skippers) in agricultural products in the US, Japan, Canada, and recently Taiwan.
The low-application rate of the active ingredient needed (~6 g/acre) and broad-
spectrum applicability as an insecticide has gained emamectin significant popularity
among farmers.
Emamectin has been shown to possess a greater ability to reduce the colonization
success of engraver beetles and associated wood borers in loblolly pines (Pinus taeda
L).6 A 2006 study regarding bolt-injections of four types of pesticides found emamectin
to be the greatest reducer against these species with respect to the amount of larval
feeding, length, and number of egg galleries.6 Formation of long vertical lesions in the
phloem and xylem surrounding emamectin injection points were found indicating some
level of tree-toxicity to the emamectin.
A water-soluble preparation of emamectin in polysorbate, acetone, and methanol was
shown to prevent the wilting of Japanese black pine trees inoculated with pine-wood
nematodes (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus). Previous treatment of B.
xylophilus infections involved eradicating the local population of Japanese pine sawyers
associated with the spread of the nematode.
Emamectin has also been successfully employed by fish farmers in the control of sea lice
in Atlantic salmon. The United Kingdom, Chile, Ireland, Iceland, Finland, the Faroe
32
Islands, Spain, and Norway are currently registered to use emamectin in their fish
feed. Removal of the afflicting sea louse represents an increase in the integrity of their
salmonid product due to the subsequent reduction of bacterial and viral pathogens
possibly carried by the sea lice. Emamectin has shown efficacy against all life-cycle
stages of Lepeophtheirus salmonis (Salmon louse) and Caligus elongatus (Sea louse),
preventing maturation to the reproductive stage.
A related dihydroxy avermectin B1 compound, ivermectin, is utilized orally in humans
as an acaricide and insecticide for the treatment of strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis.
Veterinarians also employ ivermectin in the treatment of heartworms in dogs and other
infestations.
