Integration with On-premise Applications
Various Integration Endpoints
• Enterprise Applications
– EBS, Siebel, SAP, JD Edwards, Peoplesoft, etc
– Integrate via Native Application Adapters or via generic SOAP/REST APIs
• Home grown Applications
– Service-enabled home-grown applications (e.g. (java, j2ee, msft apps accessible via
SOAP/REST APIs)
– Applications with File/FTP interface
– Non-Web Service Applications (Legacy, native applications)
• Services on on-premises Middleware platforms
– SOA Suite based Web Services, 3rd party middleware services

How does the Connectivity Agent help?
• Enables secure integration with on-premises systems without firewall pin-
holes
• Brokers all communications between both ICS UI Designer and Runtime
and the on-premises systems.
• No DMZ components required (however can cohabit with it)
• Only requires HTTPS (443) access to the outside world
• ICS will never reach into the customer’s data center
– Communication is always initiated from on-premises upstream via the Agent

Connectivity Agent - Architecture
• Two components, Cloud/Saas Agent
installed on ICS and Ground Agent
installed at customer premises.
• Uses Oracle Messaging Cloud
Service for message exchange.
• Ground Agent dis-allows any
explicit inbound connections.
Connection always established to
Oracle cloud.
• Uses JCA adapters and JCA
framework to invoke on-premises
application endpoints.
