The Executive Secretary,

SG Holdings Foundation Scholarship Board.

Dear Sir/Ma,

APPLICATION FOR THE S.G HOLDINGS FOUNDATION ANNUAL

SCHOLARSHIP

My name is Sonde Deborah Olufunke, a penultimate law student at Olabisi

Onabanjo University. I learnt about this scholarship opportunity through a
WhatsApp platform and I am thankful to have come across an initiative
like yours that seeks to support students in their educational journey. I
commend the minds behind the foundation for such a laudable endeavor.

As a driven and ambitious law student, I actively seek out opportunities

for personal development and skill enhancement. My educational
aspirations include, but are not limited to, obtaining my Bachelor of Laws
(LL.B) degree, which will enable me to proceed to Law School and
eventually embark on a fulfilling career in legal practice.

My dedication, resilience, and consistency are reflected in both my

academic performance and leadership roles. I have participated in various
competitions, trainings, and workshops that have broadened my
understanding and skills as an emerging legal professional. Currently, I
maintain a CGPA of 4.14 and have received several accolades, including
winning the Femi Falana Chambers Moot Competition securing the 1 st
runner-up position, in the Client Interviewing and Counselling Competition,
and being a finalist in the Dr. Demola Okeowo Essay Competition, among
others. Additionally, I serve as the Head of Research at Femi Falana
Chambers, Olabisi Onabanjo University; Head of Content Writing at Pealim
Foundation; and a member of the Academic Committee of the Law
Students’ Society at Olabisi Onabanjo University.

The purpose of this scholarship application is to support my journey

towards becoming a lawyer and advocate. Receiving this scholarship will
significantly alleviate the financial burden on my parents and provide me
with the resources necessary to excel in my studies.

One of my core aspirations is to be of service to others. To me, true

success lies in positively impacting the lives of those around me. This
scholarship will not only benefit me but also, indirectly, the many people I
hope to serve in the future. As a lawyer, I intend to give a voice to the
voiceless in the Ijemo community, ensuring that justice prevails and that
the guilty are held accountable. Additionally, as an advocate against
Gender-Based Violence (and other forms of violence) with a deep interest
in human rights law, I am committed to safeguarding the rights of
individuals and protecting them from infringement.

I am hopeful that I will be selected as one of your foundation’s scholarship

recipients, enabling me to further pursue my ambition of becoming a
lawyer. Thank you for considering my application, and I look forward to
your positive response.

Yours Faithfully,

Sonde Deborah Olufunke.
