Artificial Intelligence Technology Awareness Levels

of Male and Female Grade 12 STEM Students

Research Questions
The main objective of this study is to determine the AI technology awareness levels of male and female
Grade 12 STEM students in a public high school in the City of Malolos, Bulacan. Furthermore, it aims
to assess whether sex assigned at birth has a significant relationship with their level of AI awareness.

Specifically, the researchers aim to answer the following questions:


1. What is the sex assigned at birth of the respondents?
2. What is the level of awareness of the respondents on AI technology in terms of:
2.1. their basic knowledge about it;
2.2. its advantages and disadvantages; and
2.3. its possible implications for future careers?
3. Is there a significant relationship between the respondents’ sex assigned at birth and their level of
AI technology awareness?

Definition of Terms
● Artificial Intelligence (AI). This is the mechanical emulation of human intellect processes by
machines, especially computer systems (Burns, 2023). In this study, it referred to the machinery,
mechanisms, and technology that replicates human intelligence and will be subjected to an
awareness survey with the chosen sample of the study.
● Awareness. This pertains to the knowledge of something's existence or current comprehension of
a situation or topic based on knowledge or experience (Cambridge Dictionary, 2023). In this
study, it was defined as the level of knowledge, awareness, and familiarity by the chosen sample
of the study. Specifically, their AI technology awareness levels were measured, described, and
assessed for significant differences.
● Sex. This is the biological sex assignment or a person’s sex assigned at birth. Sexual orientation
is not connected to the sex assigned at birth, even their gender identity and expression (Amaze,
2022). In this study, it basically pertains to the sex assigned at birth of the respondents which
served as the factor variable of the study, potentially affecting AI awareness level.

The main objective of this study is to determine the engineering design self-efficacy and social loafing
levels of college engineering students in capstone projects. Furthermore, it aims to assess whether these
factors have a significant relationship with students' academic performance and teamwork dynamics.
