Did they steal the paper Rx or the bottle? If it was the paper
Rx inform he local Pharmacies that your Rx was stolen and
to be on the look out for that Rx to show up. I have had
three people arrested on the spot at the pharmacy waiting
area. They know how to “ delay “ filling the Rx. The photo ID
must match with your photo . If they stole the pill bottle you
are screwed. This story is the oldest lie in the world . They
will never believe you. NEVER!!!

Your only hope is to personally go to your doctor and plead

your case. If you don’t have a good relationship with that
doctor the best you could get is another Rx for the pills
when you would be due next time.

My dog ate my pills, I dropped the pills in the toilet. I had to

give some pills to my dear sick brother. On and on. We have
heard all this bullshit before.

But I am honest ….. ‘ This is not fair “. Yes I am sure you are,
BUT you signed this narcotic contract with your doctor and
you know the rules. If there were not so many liars We
would not be forced into these games. Innocent decent
people get hurt. Sorry.

When people sell these pills on the street for money They
are the criminals.

You should call the police and file a report.

Once the report is a matter of official record, you should

take a copy to your prescribing physician and ask him/her
to write you a new prescription for the amount missing.

Without a police report, most doctors are reluctant to

rescript narcotics.

You can call the police and make out a report as well as
contacting your doctor and insurance provider. But almost
10 out of 10 times, they won’t cover another refill. Because
guidelines are so tight for people who really need their
medication, we are the ones punished. So, without coming
right out and saying it…they will think the worst; like you
sold them or over took them. Good luck!

It is not against the law, but it maybe against individual
doctor’s policy or standards of practice.

Police report filed by patient about “stolen “ pills is not in

any way, shape, or form an evidence, although some
doctors might take it seriously.

I tell my patients that police report has no influence whether

I re-write control substance script or not. ( I am not claiming
that all such reports are fake, but a lot of them are)

Moreover, I pay taxes so police can catch robbers and

murderers and not waist their time and my money on filling
dubious reports.

How will someone fill a narcotic prescription without ID?

What use is the prescription to the person?

Who stole it and why?

Whenever it comes to narcotics and prescriptions I am as

suspicious as hell. And you know who taught me to be that
way? I certainly would not believe you. Which is why I
studied pain MANAGEMENT instead of pain suppression.
So I would not have to write Rx’s any more.

Most likely, your pharmacy will not give you anything to hold
you over until. your next appt, even if you will have serious
withdrawals, and especially if it is a controlled substance …
then they will definitely not give you anything.

The best thing you can do is to call your DR who

prescribed the medication, and tell them you are out of
the medication, you do not want to go into withdrawal, and
ask if they can call in a prescription for some of the
medication to tide you over until your next appt.

As other’s have said, call your child’s doctor and tell them
what happened.

They may be willing to write another prescription, but most

of us have been clearly instructed to not do so for Schedule
II medications such as Adderall or Ritalin.

If the medication was not a controlled medicine, such as

strattera or clonidine, it may be much easier.

In any event, in the future, please be extremely vigilant, as

they will not do early fills if it happens again.

medications will be stolen at college?
The ADD drug is either a stimulant, or Strattera, or maybe
Wellbutrin or even Effexor. If it’s a stimulant, it’s desirable.
So is the anxiety drug, if it is a minor tranquilizer like Xanax
or Ativan. Without know the crime rate in the dorm, I don’t
know how likely it is that they will be stolen. The fewer
people know you have them, the better.

Adams and the others have given correct, clear answers.

When this happens to one of my patients, I tell them the

same thing. Unfortunately, too many people have misused,
abused, sold and otherwise broken our trust that we cannot

In my days as a practicing surgeon we NEVER replace lost,

stolen or pills accidentally dumped into the sink (we told
patients of this policy and told them not to keep them next
to the sink).

The rules have changed and they get your driver’s license
(in the US) now for every controlled substance script. It
does not matter if you pay cash or insurance, the
government and pharmacies know ALL.

I WISH!!! There was a type of medicine for Narcissist
people. I wish!!!! I love my ex husband so much and I would
have did anything to get him the help he needs.

The bottom line is these people suffer from traumatic

events that have happened previously before you met them.
I’m not sure what secrets my ex is hiding but I know he has
not dealt with them.

To this day I continue to pray for my narcissist. I still believe

in miracles. Total healing from God is the only medicine for

your pharmacy and tell them what happened; they mat be
able to replace it for you. If it's a narcotic, forget it, you're
