INSTRUMENT INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Aim

Describe the methodology and requirements for the correct execution of work related to the assembly of
instruments to be carried out in the construction of works, complying with the established standards and
specifications of project plans.

2. Scope

This procedure will apply to all work related to the assembly of instruments and others from the start of the
activities until the receipt of the project works that have been commissioned.

3. Development

4.1 Supply and Storage of Materials

The supply of construction materials and accessories will be provided for in the specifications and list of
materials.

In this case the expression material is generic and implies instruments and all the variety of components
and materials required to execute the project.

4.2 Generalities

The assembly and connection of the control and instrumentation elements will be carried out in accordance
with the technical specifications, project drawings, the manufacturer's installation instructions and the
corresponding standards. Any discrepancy between these documents will be resolved by the manufacturer
and the corresponding standards. Any discrepancy between these documents will be resolved by the
Process Engineer, who will have a complete set of construction drawings and project documents in his
offices, in order to prominently indicate any necessary modifications that may be introduced during the
development of the work.

The Process Engineer will resolve any modifications that need to be made due to terrain conditions,
interferences or other circumstances.

Equipment and materials intended for assembly will be adequately protected from any damage they may
suffer. The instruments will be covered with some protective material during the PRM painting process.

The assembly of the instruments will be carried out by qualified personnel suitable for the specific functions
to be performed.

4.3 Installation Stages

- Identify the location of the instrument according to the plans.

- Verify that the instrument works and is calibrated according to the specifications in the instrument
data sheet.

- Mount the instrument on the stand as specified and following the manufacturer's instructions.

4.4 Mounting of Instruments

Assembly will be carried out, as well as electrical, pneumatic and impulse line connection tests and finally
calibration of the Flow Corrector. The characteristics of the instruments to be mounted are shown in the P&I
diagram. Local instruments such as pressure gauges and thermometers must be located according to the
plans of the Regulation and Measurement Bridge in their different areas, and their correct arrangement must
be verified during assembly for easy reading. The impulse taking tubes must be as short as possible in
relation to the location point of the instrument.
The assembly will consist of the placement and fixing of the instruments on the supports, pedestals or
columns, the construction of the PRM. Any instruments susceptible to damage during hydraulic testing or
due to dirt contained in the pipes (prior to cleaning) shall not be mounted until the corresponding tests and
cleaning of the pipe have been carried out and prior approval has been obtained from the Works Inspection.

In order to advance with the assembly, they may be presented on their supports to proceed with the
construction of the Regulation and Measurement Bridge, connections, etc., but they will be removed
immediately upon completion of these works. Instrument support fixings will be manufactured as supports
necessary for the installation of the instruments, according to the defined standards.

The supports shall be mounted with consideration for easy access for instrument maintenance and
protection against shocks and cleaning of the PRM line. Pedestal type supports will be fixed with
appropriate elements (drills, etc.) necessary, as typical. The pedestal bases shall be placed at an elevation
of 100 [mm] from the floor. They will have a finish with a mixture of cement and sand.
4.5 Equipment Installation
4.5.1 Meter

The meter can be installed in a horizontal or vertical position. The most recommended is the vertical position
in a vertical pipe with the gas flowing downwards. Although the design of the impellers tends to make the
meter inherently self-cleaning, mounting it in this manner increases the opportunity for gravity to pass dirt,
pipe scale or other debris through the meter.
The pipe must be rigid and properly aligned. The meter does not require any direct means of support, but
the pipe on each side must be supported to eliminate any unnecessary debris in the meter body.

4.5.2 Corrector

The thermowell and the corrector thermometer are installed, the appropriate corrector support will be
implemented in the PRM, the inlet pressure signal is extended by implementing a TE in the needle valve of
the inlet pressure gauge to the PRM until the final position of the corrector.
Once the flow corrector is installed, the equipment will be configured and calibrated.

4.5.3 Regulating Valve

The regulator must only be installed or maintained by properly qualified personnel. Regulators must be
installed, used and maintained in accordance with international and local codes and regulations, and Fisher
instructions.
Before installing the regulator, it must be checked that the regulator has not been damaged or accumulated
foreign materials during transport. For bodies with NPT threads. On flanged bodies, install appropriate
gaskets and use approved pipe connection and bolting practices.

Installation will be carried out in the desired position, unless otherwise indicated, after verifying that the
material flows through the body in the direction indicated by the arrow stamped on it. It will be verified that
the ventilation hole of the spring box is not obstructed at any time.
4.5.4 Pressure Indicator

The installation of the Pressure Indicator (pressure gauge) in the PRM with a direct connection to the line
using a Threadolet; the pressure indicator connection will be ½” NPT and will have a ½” needle valve with
corresponding accessories for its respective connection to the PRM.

4.6 Grounding
For electronic measurement systems (flow corrector), grounding lines will be installed independently of the
power lines, even if they are ultimately connected to the same ground grid.

4.7 Verification and Adjustment

The assembly, calibration, testing and commissioning of all equipment and systems will be carried out by
verifying all control loops, which will include testing and adjusting all components, using the plans,
specifications and instruction manuals of the suppliers.
4.8 Protection of the Regulation and Measurement Bridge

For protection of the Regulation and Measurement Bridge, it will be isolated at the entrance and exit by
means of dielectric packing, and to avoid corrosion in the materials it will be protected with a 100% layer of
epoxy paint; previously the manufacturer's protective paint will be removed by manual sanding.
