INTRODUCTION

The Basic Pathfinder Staff Training Course is designed to teach leaders the fundamental
principles of running a Pathfinder Club and to help parents and teachers become familiar with
the procedures, regulations, and resources needed to start and maintain a Pathfinder Club.

This course is not intended to teach the basics of what Pathfinders must learn, but rather the
basics of information necessary for any Pathfinder staff member or leader to successfully carry
out their responsibilities.

Participants must attend a minimum of 10 hours of training seminars conducted by local

conference Pathfinder Ministry staff. Ideally, this will take place over a weekend, but if necessary
it can be organised in segments, as suits the association or participants in the various regions.
The training will consist of oral presentations and participation from those present.

The Basic Course curriculum is a prerequisite for the Master Guide curriculum.
