COMPREHENSION PASSAGE

THE POST OFFICE

Ronke and Rhonda went to the post office at Ikeja to purchase stamps and post letters to their parents. There were lots of people
at the post office that morning: vendors, office workers, policemen and other children like themselves. People stood in line in an
orderly manner, Ronke stood in a line where people were waiting to purchase postage or revenue stamps from the teller in the
cubicle

Rhonda waited patiently in a corner with two letters in her hand while she looked around at all that was happening in the post
office. She saw people collecting large boxes at a special counter

At last Ronke when reached the counter , she said “ good morning” to the young man who was selling the postage stamps. The
man smiled and replied, “ Good morning” Ronke bought stamps for letters to be posted to United States of America. She thanked
the teller then quickly moved from the counter so that the next person on the line could transact his business.

Rhonda helped her sister paste the stamps on the letters. They made sure that the correct stamps were placed at the top right
hand corner of the envelope. Their teacher taught them where to place stamps on envelope so they knew what to do. The children
