"Oil Lo" light on after servicing
These vehicles with the YD25 series engine option have both a low engine oil pressure warning system, AND a
low engine oii level warning system fified. These systems work independently irom each other.
The oil pressure systern will illuminate a jewel {RED oil can) if the engine oil pressure falls beiow a predetermined
value as wilh most systems employed for many years. The Oil leveljewel (OlL LO) illuminates if the oil level
sensor contained in the sump, is not immersed in oil, warning the driver of a low oil level. lf the driver's door is
open (BCM receives door switch signal) the instrument cluster receives this signal also via the CAN network even
if the ignition switch is off.
This trigger initiates the instrument cluster to measure the resistance of the oil level sensor to gain an oil level
reading- lF the oil level is low (tor instance whilst being servicedi the instrument cluster will set the "Oil Lo" jewel.
When the ignition is switched on, (after service is ccmpleted) the oil change schedule reminder has extinguished
(after 5 sec) the "OIL LO" message willappear in the FIH LCD display and the oil can jewelwill begin to blink.
