Strain Gauge
Sensor
A Strain gauge is a sensor
whose resistance varies with
applied force; it converts force,
pressure, tension, weight, etc.,
into a change in electrical
resistance which can then be
measured. When external forces
are applied to a stationary
object, stress and strain are the
results.

Numerical Modeling

The development of a numerical model for the structure being investigated is an essential part of the
Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) process. The numerical model will be constructed utilizing the
GAD supplied and the data obtained from the site investigations, taking into account the specified
boundary conditions. The proposed model will be utilized to gain insights into the structural response
to both static and dynamic loads, hence facilitating the development of an instrumentation scheme.
This study aims to evaluate and update the established model using data acquired from
instrumentation.
