Comprehensive Forex Course Notes
1. Introduction to Forex
The Forex market, or foreign exchange market, is the world's largest financial market. It operates 24
hours a day, five days a week, and involves trading currencies. Major players include retail traders,
banks, financial institutions, and central banks. Advantages include high liquidity and leverage, while
risks involve volatility and leverage misuse.
2. Forex Market Basics
Currencies are traded in pairs (e.g., EUR/USD). A pip is the smallest price movement, spreads are
the difference between bid and ask prices, and lots represent trade sizes. Forex trading sessions
(Asian, European, and US) offer different levels of activity and volatility.
3. Technical Analysis
Technical analysis involves studying price charts to predict future movements. Key elements include
support/resistance levels, candlestick patterns (e.g., doji, engulfing), and indicators like moving
averages and RSI. For example, a moving average crossover indicates potential trend changes.
