TASK 2.1
The bar chart represents the data by using each player's display name as the y axis and their
average goals scored as the x axis. This graphic depiction allows for a straightforward assessment of player
performance in relation to their ability to score goals. Larger bars represent Lance Franklin and Tom
Hawkins, indicating their superior average goal-scoring performance compared to other players.
Furthermore, we can colour-code or label the bars to represent specific physical parameters like height
and weight counts. This allows for a deeper understanding of the possible relationship between physical
features and goal-scoring ability. This visualisation assists coaches and team management in rapidly
identifying crucial goal-scoring assets within the team roster and comprehending the possible influence of
players' physical features on their performance.

Upon analysing the given data about weight, height, display name, and average objectives, we may discern
some intriguing trends. An observable pattern is the fluctuation in the average number of goals scored
among players with distinct physical characteristics. For example, players like as Lance Franklin, Tom
Hawkins, and Jarryd Roughead, who possess taller physiques and therefore exhibit better physical
dominance on the field, typically have higher average goal scores in comparison to their counterparts.
In addition, it seems that athletes with identical physical traits exhibit a wide variation of average goals
scored. This implies that although height and weight could have an impact on a player's performance,
other variables such as skill level, playing position, and team strategy also have an affect on a player's
ability to score goals.
Furthermore, it is important to highlight the presence of outliers in the dataset, specifically referring to
individuals that have significantly higher or lower average goals scored in relation to their height and
weight. These anomalies may be ascribed to individual aptitude, playing methodology, or other variables

not encompassed in the dataset.
In summary, this research emphasises the intricate relationship between physical characteristics and
performance in Australian rules football, emphasising the significance of taking into account many
elements when assessing player efficacy during gameplay.

The dataset consists of 345 forwards, covering various years and age groups. The success of each player is
measured by their average goal count, which demonstrates a diverse range of scoring ability ranging from
0 to 3.09 goals per game. Tom Hawkins, Jack Riewoldt, Lance Franklin, and Joe Daniher, who are all very
skilled players, consistently demonstrate their ability to score goals at a high level. Certain players
demonstrate progress over time, but others consistently maintain their performance. The variation in goal-
scoring prowess among individual players indicates a range of skill levels and playing approaches. Despite
their youth, young prodigies born in the 2000s, including Max King and Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, are making
noteworthy contributions. Various factors such as injuries, amount of playing time, and the overall
performance of the team have a significant impact on the performance of individual players. Additional
examination might involve comparing players within the same team or across various teams in order to
discern trends and patterns. Utilising predictive modelling can assist in predicting future goal-scoring
performance. The knowledge acquired from this can then be used to influence player development

This research investigates the goal-scoring abilities of five prominent forwards from different AFL clubs.
Celebrated for his tenure with both Greater Western Sydney and Geelong, Jeremy Cameron demonstrates
remarkable scoring proficiency with an average of 2.55 goals per game. Lance Franklin, a prominent player
for both Sydney and Hawthorn, exhibits exceptional skill with an astounding average of 3.14 goals per
game, establishing him as a fearsome presence on the pitch. Tom Hawkins, who mostly plays for Geelong,
consistently achieves an impressive average of 2.50 goals per game, making a substantial contribution to
his team's attacking performance. Jack Riewoldt, a vital player for Richmond, maintains a consistent
average of 2.41 goals per game, demonstrating his dependability in scoring. Jay Schulz, who represents
Port Adelaide, consistently demonstrates a high level of play, scoring an average of 2.32 goals per game. In
general, these forwards have crucial roles in their respective teams, constantly scoring goals and exerting a
significant impact on match results with their scoring prowess.

Tom Hawkins, Josh Kennedy, Tom Lynch, and Jack Riewoldt. Lance Franklin, recognised for his
extraordinary proficiency, has amassed an incredible total of 995 marks, demonstrating his adeptness at
strategically positioning himself to receive the ball. In addition, he has achieved an impressive tally of 544
goals, showcasing his exceptional skill in capitalising on scoring chances. Furthermore, Franklin has
contributed 135 goal assists, showcasing his worth not just as a goal scorer but also as a facilitator of plays
for his side. Tom Hawkins, renowned for his formidable power and exceptional precision when positioned
in front of the goal, has accumulated a total of 1255 marks, which unequivocally demonstrates his
commanding influence in challenging and competitive scenarios. Hawkins has scored a total of 558 goals,
demonstrating his dependability as the main scoring choice for his club. In addition, he has provided 193
goal assists, highlighting his adaptability and eagerness to provide scoring chances for his fellow players.
Josh Kennedy, a notable forward in the league, has successfully obtained 1042 marks, demonstrating his
proficiency in competing effectively in aerial fights. In addition, he has accumulated a total of 537 goals,
showcasing his exceptional ability to convert scoring opportunities with accuracy and reliability. Kennedy
has furthermore delivered 103 goal assists, demonstrating his eagerness to contribute to his team's
attacking endeavours beyond simply scoring goals himself.

incredible total of 1988 marks, solidifying his reputation as a dependable target for his squad. In addition,
he has showcased his exceptional ability to score goals by tallying a total of 568, highlighting his enormous
influence on match outcomes through his scoring skill. In addition, Lynch has contributed 265 goal assists,
demonstrating his ability to provide scoring opportunities for his teammates.
Jack Riewoldt, renowned for his dexterity and scoring instinct, has amassed 1171 marks, demonstrating his
aptitude for locating open areas and positioning himself efficiently on the pitch. In addition, he has netted
a total of 518 goals, demonstrating his exceptional skill in scoring and his crucial role as the main offensive
threat for his club. Riewoldt's contribution of 173 goal assists highlights his worth as both a facilitator and a
goal scorer.
In general, these strikers possess a blend of marking prowess, goal-scoring expertise, and playmaking
aptitude, which makes them crucial elements of their teams' attacking tactics.

The dashboard gives us complete information of task 2.4 with every sector included in it. It conducts a
thorough examination of forward players, the initial stage involves categorising them according to their
mean goal-scoring rate. This involves computing the mean number of goals for each player and
subsequently organising them in descending order. By examining this rating, we can identify the top 5
players who have the greatest average number of goals. This analysis offers valuable information on the
most productive goal scorers among forwards. Proceeding to the second stage, applying filters based on
players' team affiliation and age enables a more focused analysis. This is the process of choosing players
based on specified criteria, such as their team affiliation and age range. These factors can provide
significant insights into the team's dynamics and individual players' growth. Comparing the height, weight,
and age of selected forward players in the next stage offers supplementary insight into their performance.
Through the analysis of these physical characteristics, it is possible to investigate relationships with
performance on the field. Finally, analyzing the game performance of certain players across the years
focuses on crucial data such as goals, goal assists, and marks. This longitudinal study provides insights into
the consistency of players, patterns in their growth, and their contributions to the club's success
throughout numerous seasons. Coaches, managers, and analysts can make well-informed decisions by
methodically carrying out these analytical procedures and gaining a thorough understanding of forward
players' performance.
