Fat quarter of light weight interfacing

1.5 metre cord or ribbon to close bag.

CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS
From one patterned fat quarter, the pink lining fabric and interfacing cut:

2 1 1 1 / 2” X 9 ” ( 3 0 cm X 2 3 cm )rectangles.

PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
Use a 1/4” seam allowance throughout, unless otherwise stated.

Press interfacing to your exterior fabric pieces.

Place exterior fabric right sides together and sew side seams and bottom edge leaving
the top open. Repeat for the lining fabric, leaving a 3” gap along the bottom for
turning later.

Turn your exterior fabric right side out and place inside your lining, so the right sides are
together (lining is still turned wrong side out).

Sew all around the top to secure the layers.

Turn the bag right side out by pulling the fabric through the gap left in the lining.
Press, and topstitch around the top edge of the bag.

Sew two more lines of stitching around the bag about 3/4” apart, 1 1/2” down from
the top of the bag. This will form the casing for your drawstring.

PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
Take a seam ripper and carefully unpick a few stitches on the side seams between
the 2 stitched lines of the casing to create the opening for the drawstring.

Add your drawstring through the casing using a safety pin attached to your ribbon or
cord.

Your bag is ready to start using!
