2 DESIGN CALCULATIONS
2.1 Lateral pressure of concrete

As per 347R-14 Section 4.2.2.(2.1b) page 6 finding the lateral pressure of concrete to using the
below mentioned equation
1). Elevation from 0.00 mtr to 5.00 mtr

C cp = ρ gh (4.2.2.1b(a))
C cp = Lateral pressure of concrete
ρ = Density of concrete i.e., 25 KN/m3
g = Gravitational [Link] 9.81 N/Kg
h = Depth of Placement ie, 1.5 mtr ( POURING FROM FORMWOK WINDOW OPENING)

C cp = 122.63 kN/m2 (0.00 mtr to 5.00mtr) Result A

Ccp max. = Cc Cw {7.2 + [785 R /( T+17.8)]} (4.2.2.1b(b))

with a minimum of 30C w kN/m2, but in no case greater than (4.2.2.1b(a))
Ccp max.= 1.2 x 1.1 x {7.2 + [785 x 1.5 /( 30+17.8)]}= 40.81 kN/m2 Result B

with a minimum of 30C w kN/m2, but in no case greater than (4.2.2.1b(a))

where: 32.1 kN/m²
Cc = 1.2

Table 4.2.2.1a(b)-Chemistry coefficient Cc

- for cement type I, II, or III,
- for slag value 'None'
- Fly ash value 'None'
- Retarder value 'Included'

Cw 2500 / 2320 = 1.07

Table 4.2.2.1a(c)-Unit weight coefficient Cw
- ρ > 2400 value w/2320 kg/m3

Then the depth of the hydrostatic load zone, for a concrete with a unit of 25 KN/m3 is
P 40.81 KN/m2 = 1.63 m
25 25.00 KN/m3
