Title: "The Office Etiquette Intervention"
Characters:
Sam: Professional and detail-oriented, always emphasizing office decorum.
Chris: A laid-back coworker, often casual about office norms.
Taylor: The new hire, eager to fit in but caught between Sam’s rules and Chris’s
relaxed vibe.
Scene: Sam, Chris, and Taylor are seated in a conference room preparing for a
team meeting.
Sam: (organizing papers) Chris, where’s your notepad? We’re about to start.
Chris: (scrolling on phone) Relax, Sam. I’ll just wing it like always.
Taylor: (nervously) Uh, should I have brought a notepad too?
Sam: (nodding) Always a good idea, Taylor. It shows you’re prepared and ready
to contribute.
Chris: (grinning) Don’t let Sam scare you, Taylor. Sometimes you can just listen
and go with the flow.
Sam: (sighs) Going with the flow is how Chris forgot the client’s name last
week.
Chris: (mock offended) Are you never going to let that go?
Taylor: (chuckling) Sounds like I joined the right team!
Sam: (to Taylor) You definitely did. But there are some unwritten rules around
here to make life easier for everyone.
Taylor: Like what?
Sam: For starters, punctuality. Being on time isn’t just polite—it sets the tone
for the whole meeting.
Chris: (teasing) Sam’s basically a human clock. Don’t be surprised if they show
up 10 minutes early to everything.
Sam: (shrugs) Better early than late. Oh, and emails. Taylor, avoid using “Reply
All” unless it’s absolutely necessary.
Taylor: (nodding) Got it. Anything else?
Chris: (leaning in) Here’s a fun one: keep snacks at your desk. Sam hates
crumbs in the break room.
Sam: (laughs) I don’t hate snacks—I just think cleaning up after yourself is basic
courtesy.
Taylor: (smiling) So… clean desk, no crumbs, and no “Reply All.” Anything I
should definitely avoid?
Sam: (serious) Loud personal calls. It’s distracting for everyone.
Chris: (mock defensive) That’s aimed at me, isn’t it?
Sam: (grinning) Your mom’s laundry advice is legendary around here.
Taylor: (laughing) I’ll make my calls outside!
Chris: (to Taylor) Here’s my advice: don’t stress too much. Work hard, sure, but
it’s okay to have fun.
Sam: (nodding) True. There’s a balance. Respecting etiquette doesn’t mean you
can’t enjoy yourself.
Taylor: (smiling) I think I get it. Respect the space and the people, but don’t
take everything too seriously.
Chris: (pretending to be shocked) Whoa, Sam, are we rubbing off on you?
Sam: (teasing) Don’t push your luck, Chris. Now let’s focus—the meeting’s
starting.
Taylor: (grabbing a pen and notebook) Ready to impress with my note-taking!
Chris: (leaning back) And I’ll… try not to wing it this time.
Sam: (smiling) Progress. I’ll take it.
(They laugh as the manager enters the room.)
Moral: In the workplace, balancing professionalism with a touch of fun helps
build great team dynamics!
