E. Write a paragraph to answer this question
Write about the first time you practiced playing a sport. Why did you choose the sport? Was it
difficult to learn it? What did you have to do? Use the simple past tense in your answer.
The first time I practiced playing a sport was three years ago when I played badminton. The reasons
made me chose this sport were several, including its being easy to learn and causing less injuries than
other sports such as: football or basketball. Before practicing, I prepared a pair of rackets, a shuttle cock
and went to an empty area. Despite its competitiveness, I still enjoyed playing badminton, especially
with my older sister as she taught me how to play it carefully and in detail, such as how to hold the
racket correctly and throw the shuttle cock. Even when I did it wrong or didn’t understand, she calmly
told me how to do it again. After 2 weeks, I could outscore my sister in many matches. My sister and I
still play it together at the weekend until now since not only does it help us to have more flexible bodies
and stronger bones but also a chance for us to spend time playing together. Until now badminton is still
one of my outdoor pursuits.
