Exercise 8: Enabling Access Requests

Define Applications

In this simulation you will be able to click/select elements. Feel free to enter text.
Programmed text will appear automatically.

In this exercise, you will configure two Applications: one for the Travel and Expense system (backed by the
Directory source) and another for the Finance system, associating the appropriate Access Profiles to each.

These are the Applications users will see when they submit access requests in IdentityNow’s Request Center.

1. Navigate to Applications.

2. Click +New to start configuring the Travel/Expense application

3. Complete the dialog box fields as follows:


App Name: Travel/Expense
Description: Manage travel bookings and expense reports

4. Click Continue.

5. Complete the Application Configuration page as follows:


For Account Source, select Directory
Request Center Options: select Visible in Request Center and Allow Access Requests

6. Click Save.

Does a red box show up after this save? To address this, click the Access tab to add Access Profiles to the
Application.

7. For Add Existing Access Profile, add Travel and Expense and T&E Approver.

8. Click Save.

9. Click the Settings tab and change the App Owner to Amy Chen.

10. Click Enable For Users to turn it on.

11. Click Save.

12. Click to return to Applications.

Now you can see the resulting Application Travel/Expense that can be requested by users.
