III. MOVING-ON CEREMONY

Tita Roquesa B. Sabejon My Dear Senior Girl Scouts, you are now ready to cross over to
Moving-On Officer the Cadet Girl Scout level. You have shown your maturity and
growth, and I know that you will be able to face new challenges
and responsibilities. You must move on to higher realms. God will
be always with you as you conquer new worlds as Cadet Girl
Scouts. But before that, kindly tell us the meaning of the color
ribbons you are holding now

Senior Girl Scout I with Red Ribbon Red means understanding one's self, including one's values,
say: needs, emotions, strengths, and even weaknesses. It represents
the development of proper health, safety and nutritional
guidelines. It stands for building satisfying relationships with
others, making and keeping friends, and sharing with family and
the community.

Senior Girl Scout II with Red Ribbon In addition, red represents fire. Fire is one of the humanity's
say: blessings, but can also destroy. We can use fire for good or evil.
We are kind and considerate because of the fire in our feelings,
but we can also hurt others if our feelings are uncontrollable

Senior Girl Scout III with Orange Orange represents discovery of how things operate;
Ribbon say: experimenting and developing your creative abilities; inventing
ways to cope with problems and deal with change. It means
looking ahead and seeing the traditional and nontraditional roles
of women and men.

Senior Girl Scout IV with Yellow Yellow says that we are becoming aware of the natural
Ribbon say: environment of Planet Earth and that we are developing skills and
knowledge to live comfortably in one environment, respecting and
loving nature. We are dedicated to protecting and preserving the
environment as best as we can. Also, yellow is sunshine. As the
sun warms us all, we in turn will spread warmth and friendship to
those we meet. Yellow reminds us that Girl Scouting is fun but at
the same time, we must not lose sight of the seriousness of our
GSP Promise and Law.

Senior Girl Scout V with Green Green represents our GSP Promise and Law. It means we share
Ribbon say: in the special ways and days of Girl Scouting. We wear uniform
with pride, we put on our Girl Scout pin and the other pins that
represent our connection to the GSP Movement. We attend Troop
Meeting in our uniform with the proper pins to show that we are
working with troop to develop our potentials, contributing to
society, developing positive values, relating to others properly,
and belonging to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl
Scouts (WAGGGS)

Senior Girl Scout VI with Blue Ribbon Blue means discovering our heritage and family customs, finding
say: out more about our community and thinking ways to contribute to
its progress. Blue represents our growth in the awareness of
global issues, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and
the basic needs of all people. Blue is the color of our
communication. It also represents our faith and love of God and
country, loyalty in our beliefs, and trust in one another

Senior Girl Scout VII with Indigo Indigo means development of our personal taste for various forms
Ribbon say: of art, expressing our thoughts, feelings and ideals through
various art forms, and appreciating the artistic talents and
contributions of others to our enjoyment and relief. Indigo is the
color of the deep midnight sky. Indigo symbolizes a mystical
borderland of wisdom, self-mastery, and spiritual realization.

Senior Girl Scout IX with Purple Purple is the color of good judgment. It is the color of people
Ribbon say: seeking spiritual fulfillment. It is said if we surround ourselves with
purple, we will have peace of mind. Purple is a good color to use
in meditation. Purple has been used to symbolize magic and
mystery, as well as royalty. Being the combination of red and
blue, the warmest and coolest colors, purple is believed to be the
ideal color. Most children love the color purple. It is the color most
favored by artists. Red is a focusing, dynamic, and active energy
while blue is a cooling, calming and expensive.

Senior Girl Scout X with Purple Purple brings a new dynamic to the expansion of blue and the
Ribbon say: activity of red. Red brings creative energy from our souls. For this
reason, purple is associated with imagination and inspiration.
Purple is the color of purpose. We put some purple in our life
when we want to use our imagination to its fullest, to seek
balance and re-balance in our life, and to remove obstacles to our
aims and goals.

Senior Girl Scout XI with White We represent white clouds around the rainbow: this means
Ribbon say: honesty in thought, word and deed. This color represents honesty
toward ourselves and others, purity of intentions, and a faith in the
Almighty that we can achieve what we are dreaming for our
nation, the whole universe and ourselves.

Senior Girl Scouts who will stay on

with the Senior Girl Scout Troop will Follow Your Dream
say this together:
Follow the winding paths through the forest
Follow the gentle streams to lakes and seas
Follow the star that gleams at evening
When day is through, when day is through
Dream of the day that passed before us
Dream of the campfire's glow
Dream of laden voices
Chanting low, chanting low
Bring the woodlands songs into the city
Bring the gleam of stars to tired eyes
Bring home the pathways of tomorrow
From the skies, from the skies
(The girls will cross the garden and on the other side, Troop Leaders will greet them with Girl Scout Sign
and Handshake)
