Introduction to Computer: Hardware
• What is ICT?
ICT means Information and communication Technology, and nowadays We need the new
technology in our daily life.
• What is a computer Made of?
Computers are complex machines that consist of several parts, which include a CPU, hard drive
and Motherboard. There are various types and configurations for computers and their parts.
• Major computer operations:
Computers vary in shape, size, and manufacturer, but they all share the same basic setup. It
contains units for inputting data, others for storing, others for processing, and units for outputting
the results of processing operations.
* We have three major operations:
1- Input -2- process -3- Output.
• For Any computer We have Two important Parts:
1- Hardware
2- Software

Hardware: All the physical parts that make up the basic units of the computer or anything you can
touch or hit,
• The Parts of Hardware:
1- Input Devices: All parts that allow the user to enter data into the computer
Examples: Keyboard – Mouse - Touch Pad - Web Cam.

2- Output Devices: The computer's output process is the result of data processing; Output
devices are either in audio or visual form
Examples of output units:
Monitor or Screen - Printers - Speakers – Plotters.

1- Try to find another Input and Output
devices.

• What is Screen Quality (Resolution):
One of the most important factors affecting screen quality is the resolution of the screen, which is the
number of pixels that make up an image.
Input & Output Devices:
Touch Screen: we can find it in ATM Machines- Mobile Screen.
