RIVING TOOLS
Driving tools are made from hardened steel tools that help in accomplishing
tasks. Some of the tasks include installations, repairs and maintenance which
requires standard length driving tools, extended length driving tools and offset
driving tools.
Screwdriver is a tool definitely intended to insert and tighten or to loosen and
remove screws. It consists a head or a tip which engages with a screw,
a
mechanism to apply torque by rotating the tip and some way to position and
support the screwdriver. A hand screwdriver contains an almost cylindrical
handle of a size and shape to be held by a human hand and an axial shaft fixed
to the handle, the tip of which is designed to fit a specific type of screw. The
handle and shaft permit the screwdriver to be positioned and supported when
rotated to apply torque A run of the mill hand screwdriver contains an around
barrel shaped handle of a size and shape to be held by a human hand and a
pivotal shaft fixed to the handle, the tip of which is molded to fit a specific sort of
screw. The handle and shaft permit the screwdriver to be situated and bolstered
when turned to apply force.

TYPES OF SCREWDRIVERS
a. Slotted Screwdriver is a tool used to drive or fasten negative slotted
screws.

a. Slotted Screwdriver is a tool used to drive or fasten negative slotted
screws.
Phillips Screwdriver is a tool used to drive or fasten positive slotted
screws. It is a screwdriver that could take larger torque and could offer
tighter fastenings.
b. Phillips Screwdriver is a tool used to drive or fasten positive slotted screws. It is a
screwdriver that could take larger torque and could offer tighter fastenings.
c. Jeweler's Screwdriver Set is a set of tiny screw drivers consists of slotted and
Phillips screwdrivers.

d. Allen Screwdriver- Most people call these Allen wrenches, but they actually
drive screw. It is used to drive or fasten hexagonal screws. The head has
hexagonal hole twisted by an Allen key. An alley key is a hexagonal shaped
wrench curve in letter-L. The Allen Key was invented by Gilbert F.

2. SOLDERING TOOLS
Soldering is one of the key processes in the production of electronic
equipment. Soldering permits electronic components to be electrically joined and also
held in place.
a. Soldering Iron is a device for applying heat to dissolve solder in attachingtwo
metal parts. A soldering iron is consist of a heated metal tip and aninsulated
handle. For electronic work, wires are usually soldered to printedcircuit boards,
other wires, or small terminals.
b. Soldering Tool Stand is where the soldering iron is placed during usage. This
will keep the soldering iron away from combustible materials. Thestand often
comes with a sponge used in washing the tip of the solderingiron.
c. Desoldering Tool is a tool used in removing soldered wires and
components on printed circuit boards for troubleshooting and restoration
purposes.
3. SPLICING TOOLS
When two electric wires are combined together, the joint formed is usuallycalled
a splice. A good splice should not only be mechanically safe, it also forms an electrical
connection which is just as effective conductor as the wire itself.
a. Long Nose is used for holding, twisting, and elongating the lead
ofelectronic component or connecting wires.
b. Side Cutter is a wire-cutting pliers, though they are not used to grip or turn
anything, but are used to cut wires.
c. Wire Stripper is a pair of contrasting blades much like scissors or wire cutters.
ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
1. Multitester or Volt-Ohm-Milliammeter is an equipment that combines three
functions: as a voltmeter that measures both ac and dc voltages; an
ohmmeter that measures resistance; and milliammeter that measures small
amount of dc current. High priced VOM can be used to measuresound level in
decibels, capacitance in microfarad, temperature in oC or oF ,and high voltage in
kilovolts, etc. With all these capabilities and usefulnessof the VOM, it is a must for the
electronics technician or radio mechanic tobe familiar with the VOM.
[Link]– is a needle-shaped rod that
moves over the scale of a meter.– It is
mechanically linked to the moving coil. It
shows the measured values onthe
multimeter.
b. Range Selector Knob- (also known as
selector switch) makes it possible tochoose
different function and range of the meter.
c. Adjustment Screw– makes it possible to
change the pointer to the zero positionof the scale.
d. Scale– is a sequence of marking used for reading the value of quantity. Scalecan
have different types of scale, for voltage and current readings the scales have
generally linear which mean equal division for resistance.
e. Test Probe- Positive (red color) negative (black color) is used to connect thecircuit
to the electric components being tested.
f. Zero-Ohm Adjuster– it is a knob used to zero-in the pointer before
measuringresistance.
