Back in 2007 the road structure of the city hospital was very basic: a Ring
Road surrounded the build at 360 degree making it accessible from every
side, this road was directly connected with a single Car Park on the south
side for both staff and public. Again south of the hospital, the ring road
was connected to the Hospital Road, a straight line that leads directly to
the City Road, along the Hospital Road were located, in both directions, all
the bus stops.
Then, by 2010, the road structure of the city hospital was changed,
complexity and dimensions increased. Was kept the old ring road but the
parking slots were doubled, the old one was accessible only by the staff
and a new one was introduced on the east side of the building for the
public. The simple crossing between ring road and hospital road became a
roundabout and a new connection with a separate bus station was
created. Finally was added at the end of the hospital road a second
roundabout which connected the road and a second exit of the bus station
to the city road.

I can easily understand why living in a foreign country and speaking it’s
language might be a serious problem for many people; particularly at the
beginning of a new experience the risk of remaining isolated from the rest
of the city around you, knowning nobody and being afraid of embarrassing
yourself with new people because you haven’t already the right mastery
of the language. However it’s good to remember that making mistakes it’s
normal and coming back from them will be the best way to improve
yourself and this is valid for everyone, everywhere. If you don’t try you
won’t succeed, so at the begging will be more difficult and the mistakes
will be many, but as time will pass it’ll be better and better. I remember
when few years ago I met an American guy called Pete, I saw him being
only with his parents for some days at the beach I went to. So a day in
which I was too without my friends I decided to go talk to him, obviously
we spoke in English and I found out that he was staying in his uncle’s
house for the summer, after that day I presented him to my friends. I’m
not saying that for him was easy, because he felt like his presence was
causing some trouble, not all of us was good in English and so sometimes
we used Italian and probably in that occasions he felt a bit isolated, but
normally we managed to have good conversation even with him. Then as
the summer passed he also learned few things in Italian, obviously his
pronunciation was strange and he made many mistakes but how could we
pretend more from him. The moral is that you have to try to meet new
people, probably the first shots won’t strike, but if you find good people
they will try their best to let you be part of something, even for a small
period of time.
