HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL
ANDROID AUTO™
Looks like you’re ready to take things up a notch.
To ensure the best in-car experience possible,
please follow these step-by-step instructions.

SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD
STEP 1 Open a web browser on your computer
• If your operating system is Windows, open
Internet Explorer or your default browser.
• If you are using MAC OS X, open Safari or your
default browser.
STEP 2 Go to the MyHyundai owner’s site at
[Link]
STEP 3 If you do not have a valid MyHyundai account,
click Register.
To register, enter your name, email, and zip code.
Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to finish
your registration. The VIN is usually located on the
driver’s side dashboard (viewable from the windshield)
or inside the driver’s side door (on a sticker).
Click Next to finish the registration process.
STEP 4 If you have a valid account, Click Log In.
Enter your MyHyundai account and password.
STEP 5 Upon login, if you have more than one vehicle, select
2015 Sonata on the drop-down menu in the top left of
the navigation bar.
STEP 6 Once you get to the Sonata 2015 page, select
Downloads in the navigation then Android Auto on the
Downloads drop-down. You will then be navigated to
the Android Auto Download Page.
STEP 7 On the Android Auto Download Page
Check the box next to “I agree to the terms and
conditions” to activate the download button.
Once the download button is active, click it to
start the download.
Select Continue
STEP 8 MAC
Once the download is complete, open the downloaded
DMG file. By default, the file will be in your Downloads
Folder.
Select Open on the system warning popup screen.
Double-click on the Hyudai icon, and continue to step 9.
WINDOWS
Select Run to download and execute the
Download Tool.
The Download Tool will be downloaded. This will not
take long.
Select Yes to run the Download Tool.
STEP 9 Upon completing the download, the Download
Tool will start.
STEP 10 Connect a compatible USB drive to your computer.
Otherwise, the update process will not proceed
until an appropriate USB drive is connected.
NOTE: USB drive should be formatted either FAT16
or FAT32, its available size should be greater than
1GB and less than 32GB.
If more than one USB drive is connected to your
computer, please select the USB you want to use.
STEP 11 Vehicle software is being downloaded. DO NOT
disconnect your USB drive until the download is complete.
STEP 12 The Download Tool will automatically extract the
downloaded files.
STEP 13 Download Tool will then copy the extracted files
to the USB drive.
STEP 14 Vehicle software has been downloaded to your
USB drive.
STEP 15 Disconnect the USB drive from your computer.
VEHICLE SOFTWARE UPDATE
STEP 1 Park your vehicle in a well ventilated area and start the
engine. The update will take approximately 40 minutes.
NOTE: Your radio presets may be lost during this
update. Take note of them before you begin the update.
STEP 2 Connect the USB drive with the vehicle software
on it to the USB port in your vehicle.
STEP 3 Press the SETUP key on your radio.
STEP 4 Scroll down and tap the System Info icon on the screen.
STEP 5 Tap Update at the bottom of the screen.
STEP 6 DO NOT turn off the engine during the
update process.
NOTE: There will be multiple occurrences where
your display screen will go black. This is normal.
STEP 7 Software Update is now complete, the system will
automatically reboot to the Disclaimer or home screen.
STEP 8 Go to System Info and confirm that your S/W
Version has been updated to:
S/W VER. [Link].E478.15430.
STEP 9 Navigate to Connectivity Settings in the Setup
menu and turn On Enable Android Auto.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If an error code or “Update Fail” message
occurs, use a ballpoint pen to press the Reset
button located next to the Tune knob.
NOTE: Hyundai shall not be liable for any issues
caused by user software installation that fails to
comply with the instructions provided.
