Course 2 – Adults
Day 1
GOAL: Students will be able to identify different types of food.
- Presentation activity: Hot ball: Students have to take a ball and present himself, with the
following questions:
What’s your name?
How old are you?
Where do you live?
What’s your favorite color?
What are your hobbies?
What things do you like?
- Knowing about the course: Dates, rules, teacher.
- Warm up: Think on your favorite dish with the drink. Let’s go to the supermarket and buy,
What things do you need? Present to the class, what is and what ingredients do you need.
- Describe the unit picture and work on warm up activities.
- Socialize the unit goals.
- Work on vocabulary part and practice on workbook activities.
- In pairs, discuss what of these dishes you have tasted. Create a conversation to share your
experiences.
Day 2
Goal: Students will talk about food they like and dislike.
- Fun activity: Play tingo tango, who has tango, has to go to the board and write common
things in 20 seconds. (fruit – verbs – vegetables - proteins)
- Warm up: Talk about your favorite meal: make a list on the board with your favorite
breakfast, lunch or dinner.
- Activity: vocabulary: What supermarket do you like most and what you don’t like? – Why,
what things you buy frequently? padlet / Provide verbs.
- Work on listening part.
- Work on speaking part.
Day 3
Goal: Students will identify the simple present rules and apply examples based on their daily lives.
- Warm up: List the different kind of restaurants do you know and make a chart list.

- Students have to go in pairs and group of three: Choose a type of restaurant from the
beginning. Following with A, create a conversation and tell to the class.
- Grammar part, explains present simple +- so quickly, focus on When we can use? - verbs
with S and examples.
- Activities to practice simple present.
- Work on active English part.
Day 4
GOAL: Students will talk about healthy eating habits.
- Warm up: Plan a party: José brings the food and I bring the balloons and the music – put a
party vocabulary.
- The class will plan the party together.
- 1 Couple: Make the menu
- 2 Couple: Prepare the decoration
- 3 couple: Organize the people on the table
- LESSON B: Healthy and unhealthy food
- Read the tips to be healthy. What can you do? What can’t you do?
- Go with a partner and prepare a menu for a healthy breakfast, dinner and lunch.
- Work on reading part.
- Close the class.
Day 5
GOAL: Students will write about their favorite dish.
- Warm up: Make a fun conversation with the class about one of their favorite food,
mentioning where it comes from, what ingredients have, how is the preparation.
- Work on listening part.
- Explain the grammar part.
- Work on activities on grammar reference.
- Active English, read the information about the paella and identify the different aspects,
and then, with this example they have to write about their own food.
- Students have to share their paragraph.
- Feedback and close the class.
Day 6
GOAL: Students will be able to identify family members.
- Warm up: Students have to make a circle and with a little ball: They will throw it to one of
their classmates and they must share basic aspects about their family:
-The name of the family
-How many members are there?
-Is a big or a small family?
-Who makes part of his family?
- The teacher will star and then, it will be the turn of each student
- Look at the opening picture in unit 6, describe and discuss about what they see and
answer the three questions about the picture.
- Watch the video, talk about that and answer the questions, check with their classmates.
- Extra: Ask to the class: Would you like to be in a large family like this? Why or why not?
- Socialize the family vocabulary using a family tree.
Day 7
GOAL: Students will say numbers and talk about ages.
- Warm up: Students will work on their family tree.
- Make a review of the numbers from 1 – 10, then, practice the numbers from 11 to 100.
- Practice the numbers in letters.
- Work on listening part.
- Make the listening task.
- Make pairs and students have to ask about his classmate’s family tree, using the questions
of point C.
Day 8
GOAL: Students will talk about relationships status.
- Warm up: On the board, there will be different numbers, to practice, students have to
write these numbers in letters.
- Work on speaking strategy, students have to read, practice the conversation and then,
create one using the vocabulary.
- Explain the grammar part and work on examples.

- Lesson B, Introduce the words married, single and divorced, and students have to mention
famous people that be in this state.
- Work on vocabulary activities.
Day 9
GOAL: Students will state a relationship preference.
- Warm up: Remember the vocabulary of last class through a spelling contest.
- Work on reading part.
- Work on listening part.
- Explain grammar part and work on examples and activities.

- MIDTERM EXAM APPLICATION

Day 10
GOAL: Students will be able to tell the time and talk about their routine.
- Warm up: Write 3 different times on the board, teacher and students have to say what
they do at this time.
- SOCIALIZE THE MIDTERM EXAM.
- Describe the photo and socialize the goals. Work on warm up activity.
- Work on vocabulary part.
- Then, the teacher explains the clocks and how to say in English the time.
- Students have to do their own daily routine, with hours and activities. Then, present to the
class.
Day 11
Goal: Students will make and respond to suggestions.
- Warm up: Describe the picture, and show three times: 12:00 – 6:30 – 4:45
Make a list on the board of activities that students to at this time.
- Work on listening part.
- Work on speaking part, students have to listen to the conversation, practice between
them.
- Present and explain the speaking strategy and work on a conversation to practice it.
- Explain the grammar part, work on examples and activities.
Day 12
GOAL: Students will talk about weekend activities.
- Warm up: Present days of the week and words: Tomorrow – Today – Yesterday, making
examples with the everyday of students.
- Work on active English, make a schedule with students’ plans for the weekend using the
vocabulary.
- Open lesson B, socialize and practice the vocabulary through examples and activities.
- Work on reading part.
- Listening part.
Day 13
GOAL: Students will ask and answer information questions.
- Warm up: practice the vocabulary of last class through a word game.
- Explain the grammar part, practice on grammar reference and page 101.
- On the board, students have to create the most possible questions with WH and then, give
answers.
- Work on active English point A.
- Introduce the Unit 8, students mention different Colombian occasions.
- Work on warm up activities and socialize the goals.
Day 14
Goal: Students will talk about important dates.
- Warm up: on the board, the teacher will write the months of the year, they have to mention
Colombian celebrations on each one.
- Work on vocabulary part.
- Work on listening part. Explain the ordinal numbers.
- Work on speaking part. Listen to the conversation, practicing with classmates.
- Explain the speaking strategy, then, in pairs they will have a famous celebration, investigate
about it and create a short presentation.
Day 15
GOAL: Students will be able to state when and how long an event is.
- Warm up: Discuss about the festivals that students know.
- Work on grammar part, make examples and practice with grammar references page and
page 109.
- Socialize the vocabulary on lesson B.
- Practice with workbook.
- Reading task:
Pre-reading: Look at the title of the reading and answer with your classmates. What is
this festival about?
Pre-reading: Work on point B while students read aloud.
Post-reading: Identify the main point of the text, when and where does this festival
take place? And work on point C and D.
Day 16
GOAL: Describe what happens at a festival.
- Warm up: Presentation of students prepared on day 14.
- Work on listening part.
- Explain the grammar part.
- Practice on activities and grammar reference page.
- Work on active English part, point A.
- Writing activity: in pairs, students have to investigate about a festival around the world.
And write a paragraph following the structure on English part point.
- Feedback and close the class.
