Question 1:
The ability to assess your own characteristics and qualities can help you set goals for further development and
decide if you are suited to work as an early childhood educator: Why did you decide to become an early childhood
educator? What qualities do you already have that suit you to work with children? Make a list of the qualities you
have that help you in your career as an early childhood educator.
I want to become an early childhood educator because I want to make the young minds I
work with and around to be joyful! Watching young children experience different aspects of
life and learning is always exciting and both stressful. Even so, I would love to help them go
through the young stages of their lives. In my own experience, I am good with kids since I
have two kids and they are both very trouble making. Still, I always solve their little and large
issues with a lot of patiencency. I am always respecting their ideas and strategies so,
learning from my kids always gives me the new ideas to improve. We have to be very
cautious with the young minds before talking or doing or learing new things. Understanding
the kids actions is not a very easy task, that takes you lot of time to understand. These are
the list of qualities that can help me in my career as an early chidhood educator.
Question 2:
Now, review the qualities discussed in this session. What qualities do you not have? Can you think of any ways
you could work to improve them? Understanding which positive qualities and characteristics you have, and which
ones you need to develop, is important to becoming an effective early childhood educator.

learning childcare. I have a lot to learn and go deeper into the early learining chidcare so that
I can be advanced in this job. I can improve my knowledge in this job by finishing this course.
Not only the basics but as somebody who is an immigrant to Canada, I have limited
knowledge about different diversities around Canada. This, however I can easily overcome
by spending time with children and learning about their cultures and heritage. With enough
knowledge and experience I can soon become a talented early childhood caretaker.
