describe an action?
Very good! It is called verb. Actions are
happening now, some have happened before,
and some could happen in the future.
B. Developmental Activities
1. Activity
“I am teaching.”
“I teach.”
“I taught.”
“I will teach.”
I have here a list of sentences. Could you tell
me the difference among these sentences?
As you noticed, they are all sentences that
tells us what I do, did, or will do. They differ
in terms of tenses. Verb tenses tell us when
does the action occur.
2. Analysis
Present Tense are used for actions happening
now or regularly.
I am teaching.
I teach.
Past Tense are used for actions that happened
before.
I taught last week.
He played soccer yesterday
Future Tense are used for actions that will
happen later
I will teach next week.
They will visit the zoo tomorrow.
The teacher will present a verb tense chart for
regular and irregular verbs
Regular verbs follow the standard grammar
rules of modern English in adding “-ed” or “-
d” to form the past tense and past participle
forms.
Irregular verbs, however, use completely
original words for their different verb forms
when they’re the main verb of a sentence.

The task is to sort the strips into three
categories: past, present, and future and put it
on the table. Each group must share their
sorted sentences with the class.
