1. SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES
The aim of this document is to establish the key requirements to install the Intake screen.
All the works and related activities are executed and performed in accordance with good
working practice and are verified to satisfy project contract documents and specifications.
All quality assurance and quality control activities are conducted in a systematic manner, works
inspected and documented as per specified requirements.
This method statement does not cover pre-commissioning which will be described in separate
documents.

4. PRIOR ACTIVITIES
4.1 Preparation
Obtain the latest revision of drawings / specifications and construction procedures and distribute
to those personnel supervising the work.
Review Drawings, confirm installation feasibility in the field and check availability of materials.
When discrepancies in the field exist relating to drawings or field condition, raise technical
queries (Request for Information).
Supervisor shall ensure relevant permits are raised and received prior to commencement of
work and to confirm the availability of all materials, tools, equipment, and required personnel
who will carry out the work.
Supervisor shall ensure that lifting plan are prepared and reviewed with the team prior to
commencement of work and to confirm the availability of all HSE material and personnel who
will carry the lifting.
4.2 Material Staging, Inspection, Handling and Transportations
Material inspection and handover shall be conducted by a GWT representative.
Screen Equipment must be stored as per the supplier instruction.
Specific lifting and transportation instructions if specify in the supplier manual should be followed
for handling and lifting.
Carefully check the lifting ropes position to lift the equipment. Wrong lifting could damage the
equipment.

6. Installation of Intake Screen.
6.1 Civil Survey
Ensure that all civil related surveys and criteria are being checked and verified (flatness,
plumbness, dimensions, …)
The puddle flanges to which the intake screen will be connected shall be erected and
adequately prepared by Civil Works team in that referring to dimensions, anchorage reservation
location, heights, tolerances and concrete resistance or stabilization, if there is any.
Handover inspection should be carried out with the Civil team and/or subcontractor before
proceeding to the installation works.

6.2 Equipment Installation
Note: This WMS is for the erection of the intake screen and its support only. Skid compressor and Air
tank are covered in Skid WMS and Piping in piping erection WMS.
Intake screen
To ensure good workmanship only authorized, trained, and certified personnel shall be allowed
to work on the installation of the intake screen.
Before erection of the screen scaffolding and access to the work area should be available.
Tools and hardware are all available and ready to use.
Puddle pipe water flange is installed and inspected.
Start off by cleaning the surface of the water flange face and the screen flange face.
Lift the screen and screen support as per lifting plan.
Position the screen support and mark the anchor bolts.

Drill the anchor holes as per marking and install the stud bolts using chemical mortar.
Position the screen support together with the screen and install the bolts.
All bolts shall be torqued and a random bolt inspection to be conducted to ensure that the
screens are tight and secure.

Refer to ITP for the installation of screen.
