This article is about the the Philippines and United States planning to
designate four new Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA)
sites in the Philippines. The EDCA is a key pillar of the U.S. and the
Philippines alliance, which supports combined training, exercises, and
interoperability between our forces. The Pentagon said, the addition of
these new EDCA locations will allow more rapid support for
humanitarian and climate-related disasters in the Philippines, and
respond to other shared challenges. They also said that the United
States has allocated over $82 million toward infrastructure investments
at the existing five sites under the EDCA, and is proud that these
investments are supporting economic growth and job creation in local
Philippine communities. Since the U.S. is planning to create four new
sites, many people especially in that area might have better lives since
the it said that it would create jobs. Moreover, people might feel
protected against terrorism and other disaster. Joining with the U.S. will
show deep relationship between the countries and most importantly it
shows to any aggressive countries, especially China that the said
agreement will prevent any violent act to bring peace in the country.
We might expect more opportunities and benefits for this agreement
since this is still a plan but we must consider that teaming with the U.S.
is not an option, we're still facing difficulties that must solve by
ourselves not other countries.
