PUTRI PUCUK BUKIT KELUMPANG

Once upon a time, on a hill called Kelumpang, there lived a princess

named Putri Pucuk. Putri Pucuk was famous for her unparalleled beauty
and her wisdom in leading the people. Bukit Kelumpang is known for its
beautiful and fertile natural scenery, where green trees and flowers
bloom all year round.

Putri Pucuk was a leader who was very much loved by her people. She
always tried to maintain the balance of nature and taught her people
about the importance of living in harmony with nature. Every day, Putri
Pucuk would walk around the hill and take care of the plants and
animals there.
“oh beautiful forest, look at those birds singing sweetly. I am grateful
that God loves this enchanting hill. I hope this hill is maintained
forever” [said putri pucuk with full gratitude]
One day, a prince from a neighboring kingdom came to Bukit
Kelumpang to hunt. The prince did not respect nature and often
damaged plants and disturbed the animals there. Seeing this, Putri Pucuk
felt very angry and disappointed. Putri Pucuk then met the prince and
reprimanded him wisely.
“Sorry, my handsome prince, could you not hunt indiscriminately and
destroy this beautiful forest and hills?” [putri pucuk]
“oh I know you, you???” [a prince]
“Putri Pucuk Bukit Kelumpang. I am in charge and rule in this area”
[Putri Pucuk]
“The most beautiful princess in Bangka” [the prince was fascinated by
the beauty of the princes]
“Yeah it’s up to you, hunting is my hobby. I don’t care if nature is
damaged it’s not my problem” [The prince did not care about the words
of the princess]
Putri Pucuk explained that nature is an important part of life and must be
well maintained.
“But don’t you see, this forest is home to thousands of living things,
both humans, animals and plants. How would you feel if your best friend
died and your house was destroyed by someone else? You must be
angry, right? Can’t your heart feel the same way?”
The prince, who was initially arrogant and stubborn, began to listen to
Putri Pucuk’s words. He saw how sincere the princess was in preserving
nature and began to feel ashamed of his actions.
After the meeting, the prince promised to change and began to learn to
appreciate nature. He apologized to Princess Pucuk and her people for
all the damage he had done.
“You are right, I should not have hunted wildly and destroyed this
forest. I am ashamed of my actions, what should I do?” [asked the
prince]
Princess Pucuk accepted his apology with an open heart and taught the
prince about ways to preserve nature.

The prince and Princess Pucuk eventually became good friends and
together taught the people about the importance of maintaining the
balance of nature. This story became a legend that continues to be told
from generation to generation as a reminder to always live in harmony
with nature.
