Title:
Vignette 1:
The year is 2000. 3 rocks are found on the floor next to the Hekla volcano, Iceland.
Limestone:
- Hello, my name is Limestone!
Mudstone:
- Oh, cut it out Limestone, mine is Mudstone!
Shale:
- Mine is Shale.
Vignette 2:
(the earthquake starts)
Mudstone:
- Noooo, I’m going to get dirty!!!
Limestone:
- THAT IS NOT IMPORTANT! What is happening???
Shale:
- Mudstone, you are ALREADY dirty.
Vignette 3:
(volcano erupts)
Vignette 4:
(rocks starts panicking)
Shale:
- Oh, it’s raining…
Limestone:
- We need to go, NOW!
Mudstone:
- I can’t run, or else I’m going to fall.
(rocks start rolling and falling)
Vignette 5:
(Limestone pushes them, falls and gets eaten by lava)
Limestone:
- Helpp!!!!
(Limestone disappears)
Vignette 6:
(they are staring at the lava drilling from the floor)
Mudstone:
- Well, that makes one of us less. But, since it’s not me, it doesn’t really matter.
Shale:
- He’s dead…
Vignette 7:
(rock falls from the sky)
Mudstone:
- What is that?
SQUISH!
Shale:
- Goodbye my hot friend! Well, that just leave one of us, ME!
Vignette 8:
(Shale starts walking, and suddenly falls into a deep hot hole)
Shale:
- Take me with you death…
BOOM!
- Ouch, it’s hot!
Fshhhhhh!
(starts “heating”= smoke getting out of the hole)
Vignette 9:
100 years later…
Vignette 10:
Different rocks appear: Marble, Gneiss and Phyllite.
Marble:
- What just happened?
Gneiss:
- What happened to me! And to you Limestone!
Phyllite:
- Guys, what happened to you doesn’t matter, but what matters is what happened to me.
Vignette 11:
Marble:
- You guys, it looks like you just metamorphosed…
Gneiss:
- Maybe… It’s because of the volcano?
Marble:
- A volcano has rocks, and is very hot… Think about it, I fell in the lava, the lava is hot, and is
composed of molten rocks.
Gneiss:
- I fell in a very hot hole, I though I was going to melt with all that heat…
Vignette 12:
Marble:
- And you phyllite?
Phyllite:
- Well a rock fell on me, and it felt like I was being pressured by a heavy object.
(they all think…)
Gneiss:
- Guys, I know! We are metamorphic rocks, we transform under high pressure and heat!
