The article written by Rossane Bane gives us an idea of the importance of a ritual for writing, even if
there are peculiarities in this process. By opening the text by recounting her own somewhat strange
ritual, in which she swears that dancing hippo helps her writing process, the author gives the reader
an idea of the development of the reasoning that follows.

The study gives a scientific view of the power of rituals for writing, debating the rationality and
irrationality of this process. Repetition becomes a crucial factor in this practice because, according to
the author, it is the key to developing a ritual. However, this process is not only about repetition, but
also about feeling the writing ritual, not just thinking about it. The author states that, it's still vital to
think about what you're doing and why, especially when you first build your writing ritual.

In conclusion, Rossane assures that the use of rituals eliminates doubts and gives confidence to the
writer; rituals not only facilitate the writing process, but become essential to it.
