1 Draw a Vernier scale of R.F. = 1/40 to read up to 6 meters. On it show
lengths 2.39 m, 0.91 m and 0.47m [14M]
(Or)
2 Outline an involute of a circle of 40 mm diameter. Also, draw a normal
and a tangent to it at a point 100 mm from the center of the circle. [14M]
UNIT 2
3 a A point 30 mm above xy line is the plan-view of two points P and Q. The
elevation of P is 45 mm above the H.P. while that of the point Q is 35 mm
below the H.P. Show the projections of the points and describe their
[7M]
position with reference to the principal planes and the quadrant in which
they lie.
b Two pegs fixed on a wall are 4.5 meters apart. The distance between the
pegs measured parallel to the floor is 3.6 meters. If one peg is 1.5 meters
above the floor, Determine the height of the second peg and the inclination [7M]
of the line joining the two pegs, with the floor.
(Or)
4 Draw a regular hexagon of 40 mm side, with its two sides vertical. Draw a
circle of 40 mm diameter in its center. The figure represents a hexagonal
plate with a hole in it and having its surface parallel to the V.P. Sketch its
[14M]
projections when the surface is vertical and inclined at 30° to the V.P.
Assume the thickness of the plate to be equal to that of a line.
UNIT 3
5 Sketch the projections of a square pyramid having one of its triangular
faces in the V.P. and the axis parallel to and 40 mm above the H.P. Take
[14M]
base 30 mm side and axis 75 mm long.
(Or)
6 Illustrate the projections of a cylinder 75 mm diameter and 100 mm long,
lying on the ground with its axis inclined at 30" to the V.P. and parallel to
[14M]
the ground.

UNIT 4
7 A cylinder of base diameter 40 mm and height 60 mm is resting vertically
on one of its bases on the HP. It is cut by a plane perpendicular to the VP
and inclined at 50° to the HP. The plane meets the axis at a point 40 mm [14M]
from the base. Develop the lateral surface of the lower portion of the
truncated cylinder.
(Or)
8 A hexagonal pyramid of base of side 25 mm and altitude 50 mm is resting
vertically on its base on the ground with two of the sides of the base
perpendicular to the VP. It is cut by a plane perpendicular to the VP and
[14M]
inclined at 40° to the HP, The plane bisects the axis of the pyramid.
Develop the lateral surfaces of lower portion of the pyramid.
UNIT 5
9 The pictorial view of an object is shown in the following fig. Outline its
three views. All the dimensions are in mm.
[14M]
(Or)
10 Outline the isometric view of the casting, two views of which are shown in
[14M]
the following fig.
