Construct a Diagonal scale of RF = 3:200 showing meters, decimeters and [14M]
1 centimeters. The scale should measure up to 8 meters. Show a distance of 4.56 m
and 6.78m.
(Or)
The vertex of a hyperbola is 65 mm from its focus. Outline the curve if the [14M]
2 eccentricity is 3/2· Draw a normal and a tangent at a point on the curve, 75 mm
from the directrix.
UNIT 2
Two points A and B are in the H.P. The point A is 30 mm in front of the V.P. [7M]
while B is behind the V.P. The distance between their projectors is 75 mm and the
a
line joining their top views makes an angle of 45° with xy. Estimate the distance
3 of the point B from the V.P.
A 90 mm long line is parallel to and 25 mm in front of the V.P. It’s one end is in [7M]
b the H.P. while the other is 50 mm above the H.P. Show its projections and find its
inclination with the H.P.
(Or)
A pentagonal plate of 50 mm side has a circular hole of 40 mm diameter in its [14M]
4 centre. The plane stands on one of its sides on the H.P. with its plane
perpendicular to V.P. and 45° inclined to the H.P. Sketch the projections.
UNIT 3
Illustrate the projections of a pentagonal prism, base 25 mm side and axis 50 mm [14M]
5
long, resting on one of its rectangular faces on the H.P., with the axis inclined at
45° to the V.P
(Or)
A hexagonal pyramid, base 25 mm side and axis 50 mm long, has an edge of its [14M]
6
base on the ground. Its axis is inclined at 30° to the ground and parallel to the V.P.
Sketch its projections.
UNIT 4
A hexagonal pyramid, base 30 mm side and axis 65 mm long, is resting on its [14M]
base on the H.P. with two edges of its base parallel to the V.P. It is cut by a
7 section plane, perpendicular to the V.P. inclined at 45° to the H.P. and intersecting
the axis at a point 25 mm above the base. Develop the lateral surface of the
remaining portion of the pyramid
(Or)
A cylinder of 40 mm diameter, 60 mm height and having its axis vertical, is cut [14M]
8 by a section plane, perpendicular to the V.P., inclined at 45° to the H.P. and
intersecting the axis 40 mm above the base. Develop the lateral surface of the
remaining portion of the cylinder.
