Part 1 Format and Structure
EDITED VERSION
Paragraph 1:
In this line graph, we see a summary of the recycling rate for particular recycling
materials from 1982 to 2010 in a country. I will conclude the information by selecting
and reporting on the statistics and making comparisons where relevant.
Overall, a vast majority of the selected materials had an increase in their recycling
rate, but the recycling rate of paper and glass containers was generally greater than
aluminium cans and plastics throughout the whole time frame.
Paragraph 2:
To start with, paper and cardboard’s recycling rate fluctuated between 60 and 70 per
cent from 1982 to 1990. Then it steadily declined from 80 per cent to 60 per cent
over the period. When it comes to the recycling rate of glass containers, the recycling
rate experiences a 10 per cent decrease from 1982 to 1990. However, it bounces
back in 1994, and then it slowly rises to 60 per cent throughout the remaining time.
Paragraph 3:
The biggest rise relates to the recycling rate of aluminium cans. It starts below 10 per
cent in 1984, however, it has an approximately fivefold increase over the period
shown.
Paragraph 4:
In terms of plastics, the recycling rate stagnates between around 0 and 10 per cent.

than learning local languages. If these are not taught, many are at risk of dying out.
In your opinion, is it important for everyone to learn English? Should we try to
ensure the survival of local languages and, if so, how? Give reasons for your answer
