ANTECEDENTS REDEFINING
SCIENCE TOWARDS SOCIETY
- Epistemology debates how we acquire knowledge and its limits.
- Science adheres to two key epistemological principles:
- Rationalism: Beliefs should be based on reason and knowledge, not
emotion or religious beliefs.
W
- Empiricism: All knowledge comes from sensory experience.
- The scientific method reflects Rationalism and Empiricism by forming
hypotheses, conducting replicable experiments, and interpreting results
rationally. O
- While these principles are core to Science, certain aspects of the
scientific process have been questioned and refined over time.
