language 24. Find (i) how many were studying Hindi?
(ii) how many were studying English and Hindi?
5. In a residential society, out of 100 people, 15 like reading newspapers
only, 12 like learning computes only and 8 like watching movies only on
TV in spare time. 40 like reading newspapers and watching movies, 20 like
learning computer and watching movies, 10 like reading newspaper and
learning computer, 65 like watching movies. Draw a Venn diagram and
show the various portions and hence evaluate:
(i) How many like reading newspapers?
(ii) How many like learning computers?
(iii) How many didn’t like to do any of the things mentioned above?
6. For all sets A, B and C, if A is subset of B and B is subset of C, then prove
that A U B is subset of C.
7. Given that L={1,2,3,4}, M={3,4,5,6} and N={1,3,5}. Verify that L-(M U N) =
(L- M) (L- N).
8. In a town of 10,000 families, it was found that 40% families buy newspaper
A, 20% families buy newspaper B, 10% families buy newspaper C, 5%
families buy newspaper A and B, 3% families buy newspaper B and C, 4%
families buy newspaper A and C. If 2% families buy all of them, find:
i) The number of families which buy newspaper A only?
ii) The number of families which buy none of the newspapers.
9. Suppose A1, A2, …, A30 are 30 sets each having 5 elements and B1, B2,
…, Bn are n sets each with 3 elements. Let and each
