Oliwia Ola Gabriel Sena

To create management tools

(Ola) Introduction:

(Oliwia) Metaphor - Creating tools is like forging keys for unseen locks; each tool is designed to
open a specific door of possibility, while unlocking new ways to act, think, or approach problems.
With every key crafted, the map of what we can access expands, but the doors we choose to unlock
also shape the paths that we can take.

This metaphor addresses management in the context of tool creation by framing the process as a
deliberate act of aligning resources, skills, and directions to set for specific outcomes. Here’s how it
connects:

- Resource Allocation - Just as forging keys requires specific materials and skills, management
ensures that the right resources such as time, talent, and effort—are allocated in tool development.

- It allows us to shape organizational behavior - The tools (keys) created by management open
doors to specific possibilities, which guide team members' actions and behaviors. Management thus
determines which opportunities are pursued, influencing workflows and organizational culture.

- Feedback and Adaptation - If a key doesn’t fit its intended lock, management is invited to refine
the design—similar to revising processes, adjusting tools, or pivoting strategies based on outcomes
and feedback.

1) Behavior
- Tools can allow us to shape behaviors

Tools can shape behaviors by influencing how individuals interact with their environment, work on
problems, and set directions.

o (GABRIEL) Standardization of the process –Standardization of the processes through

management tools involves creating a consistent structure for planning, executing, and
tracking tasks. Tools like Asana and Trello can allow us to organize work into tasks, each with
an assigned owner, timespan, and priority. This invite organization to understand the concept
of taken actions and makes responsibilities possible to manage.
What is more, centralizing updates and communication within the tool ensures that all
information about a task is stored in one place. Visual features, such as boards or progress
tracking can allow us to see how work moves through different stages. This process creates
uniform workflows that all the team members can follow, regardless of their location or role.

TOOL -
1 OLIWIA – We come up with the problem based on articles and FOM book
2 OLA = we set simple rules for workflow - everyone has access to the SharePoint
3 SENA= We exchange ideas
4 GABRIEL =We work on a problem and come up with conclusions

2) Network
Creating a fabric of personal contacts because it alows
- Manager ensure that individual efforts connect the organization’s objectives.
Networking allow leaders communicate
- Establish personal networks with individuals from different industries, cultures, and
roles
- + Seek out external events, such as conferences and forums, to gain new insights and
approaches

WHY: we can use it in our company (example: attending a event where u learn about AI
and then we can apply the learnings in our company)

- The network can be used to support or daily tasks. It can covered multiples fields:
internal responsibilities, personal development and discover new directions
- The first one – ensure coordination and cooperation among people who have to know
and trust one another in order to accomplish their immediate tasks.
- Managers from different departments can come together to share their perspectives on
participants’s needs and organizational problems.
WHY: Networking in this context allows them to gather their expertise and identify common purpose
for the tool.

Operational Networking - Operational networking refers to the process of developing and

managing relationships that are directly linked to completing tasks or meeting specific job-
related requirements. We are invited to build these relationships with groups that are involved
in the execution of work activities.

Personal Networking - Personal networking refers to the process of building and nurturing
relationships for mutual support, advice, or assistance that extends beyond immediate job
responsibilities. It invites us to make connections with colleagues, friends, mentors, or
acquaintances who can work with us on personal, professional, or social outcomes of our
actions.

(Gabriel) Conclusion: Tools shape the outcomes of actions.
