This report is outcome of survey camp carried out by IOE Janakpur Engineering College,
Civil 2076 Batch Group I. The purpose of camp carried out is to make the student
independent to perform entitled field work in given time frame and to give exposer on
solving real problems. The field work and procedure of report preparation was a great
opportunity of capacity building to the group members.
We are sincerely indebted to Department of Civil Engineering, IOE Janakpur
Engineering College for providing opportunity to participate in the camp .We would like to
express our sincere gratitude to [Link] Khyaju as a Camp Headfor his helpful suggestion
and instructions during field work and report preparation phase,without which it would be
very difficult to perform field work and prepare report. We are equally indebted to our camp
Coordinator [Link] Saroj, Head of Department: Er. Rufesh Kumar Yadavandother

work and also providing prompt comments and rectification necessary for the preparation and

ABSTRACT
This report is the outcome of the 10 days Survey Camp 2076 (Bugmati) organized by
Department of Civil Engineering, Janakpur Engineering College, Tathali, Bhaktapur for the
students of BCE-074 Batch as per the syllabusof IOE. The camp was held in MARS Nepal
Engineering Survey Camp, Bungmati, Lalitpur from date 3 rd of Falgun to 12th of Falgun
2076B.S.
The Survey Camp provided us an opportunity to gain and update our theoretical and
practical knowledge of surveying in actual field work. The major part of survey camp was
covered by topographic surveying, and then by road alignment and by bridge site survey. All
the technical requirements had to be fulfilled within the given time limit. In this regard, we
carried out the necessary field works as a team. This provided us the opportunity to make
decisions regarding planning and execution of field works for the preparation of topographic
map, road alignment survey and bridge site survey. The survey camp has helped us build our
confidence to conduct engineering survey with the required precision and within the
prescribed time limitation.
This report reflects the methodology, observations and calculations made by the students in
the camp with the corresponding drawings. The large portion is of course covered with
elements of topographic surveying and then those of road alignment and bridge site survey
follow it.
The report is prepared with great efforts and dedications of the students who have devoted
their immense from the very first time of fieldwork till today. The students are always
learning for knowledge and promotions. Therefore, we feel that this report deserves the
excuses and tolerances from the readers for any errors or blunders present, despite the best
efforts.
