Make a position paper regarding the posted issue and relate the proliferation of
Fake news in the country and as a Filipino citizen how would you prevent that?
Write in no less than 300 words.
Many things have changed over the decades, such as the way news and issues
are now disseminated. Without a doubt, information has never been as readily available
as it is today, owing to how quickly news can spread online, but with these things come
new problems, such as misinformation. Technology has brought us to the point where
we will no longer agree with what we hear, read, or even see. The "Retraction of Dr. Jose
Rizal" has been the talk of the town for many years since a document was discovered in
1935. The question of whether or not Rizal retracted and whether the document is false
or genuine is being debated among Rizal historians and scholars today.
The retraction was written on the night of Rizal and Josephine Bracken's
wedding, as well as a few hours before Rizal's execution in Bagong Bayan, which is now
known as Luneta. As a result, he is regarded as one of the primary witnesses or sources
who can determine whether or not the retraction is genuine. A primary source's
affidavit is submitted, this time from Father Pio Pi, the Jesuit superior in the
Philippines at the time of Rizal's execution, which caused him to participate in
obtaining the Retraction document from the Archbishop of Manila. his execution,
which supports the two priests' affidavits. Although Rizal retracted his statement, the
investigation into this matter is still ongoing and may not be completed.
The statements from primary sources are all we need to judge and investigate,
but many rumors have already spread online and offline. To avoid believing
misinformation or so-called fake news, we simply need to conduct additional research
and thoroughly investigate the matter before spreading false information. Not only can
analysis help you, but you can also help others by preventing the spread. With Rizal's
retraction, the sources are assisting historians and researchers in their pursuit of the
truth and informing people of the truth they deserve.
