We are delighted to announce and invite everyone to attend the 38th Annual Conference to be held
at the Movenpick Hotel, Karachi, Pakistan from 25th November to 27th November 2022.
The aim of the conference is to bring together, like-minded individuals with different experiences in
clinical radiology and nuclear medicine to allow the exchange of ideas and knowledge. The
conference will have state of the art lectures designed to update delegates on the latest advances in
imaging. This will ultimately lead to excellence in the delivery of radiological services.
For the first time in the history of RSP we are proud to announce our collaboration with the Royal
College Of Radiologists (RCR). RCR officers and members will be active participants in the
conference delivering lectures on various topics and also organising pre-conference workshops to be
held on 23rd and 24th November. The RCR will have a specific session dedicated to the vision of the
college and information pertaining to training, CPD, examinations, research and education. To learn
from specialists who are leaders in their field will be an invaluable opportunity for the delegates and
one not to be missed.
The theme of this conference is Radiological Education, Innovation and Standardization. With all
these components together, we hope to see the RISE of our professionals, soaring high in their
respective fields.
For their phenomenal work, I’d like to give special thanks to my close associates Dr. Mukhtiar,
Dr. Sadaf, Prof. Saba Sohail (Pakistan), Dr. Sami Khan and Dr. Qaiser Malik (UK).
I would also like to mention Prof. Nadeem Ahmad, Prof. Khawaja Khurshid, Porf. Tariq Mahmood (TI)
and Maj. Gen. (R) Hamid Akram for their outstanding support in this venture.
Mr. Munir Ahmed of Bios and Mr. A. Rasheed Chohan of Hoora pharmaceutical deserve special

Dr. Sami Khan
Consultant Radiologist at Basildon University Hospital, UK. Dr. Khan is a
world-renowned medical educator who has won many awards and
accolades for his unreserved dedication to teaching. During COVID,
through his persistent innovation, he founded Dr. Khan’s teaching (DKT);
a volunteer teaching organisation run by a team of passionate
radiologists who deliver quality education worldwide according to the
curriculum of the Royal College of Radiology. DKT is now a global
phenomenon with an attendance of 62500 radiologists since March
2020.
Dr. Qaiser Malik
Consultant MSK Radiologist, lead for MSK imaging and Clinical Director
of Radiology at MSE NHS Trust. He is also the clinical lead for the East 2
Imaging network - looking after 9 trusts. He is a Honorary Senior
Lecturer for University College London Medical School. He has served on
the Scientific Programme Committee for 7 years for the Royal College of
Radiologists and was the Newsletter editor for 2 [Link] is a keen
medical educator and lectures both nationally and internationally. He
has authored a number of peer reviewed research papers, book chapter
in the latest Chapman’s Handbook of Radiology.
Ms. Tania Vanburen
Executive Director of Education and Professional Practice and Deputy
Chief Executive of the Royal College of Radiologists, Tania leads on
workforce development, training, education, exams, professional
standards and quality at the college. She also oversees the development
and delivery of the world class iRefer radiology referral guidelines. The
work she oversees in her directorate supports members and Fellows
throughout their careers.
Dr. Stephen Harden
Consultant cardiothoracic radiologist at University Hospital Southamp-
ton, UK, and he has recently completed his term as the Medical Director
for Education and Training in Clinical Radiology at the Royal College of
Radiologists (RCR). Stephen has clinical expertise in imaging patients
with cardiac and lung disease. He was the President of the British
Society of Cardiovascular Imaging (BSCI) from 2012-2015 and the
Vice-President of the British Institute of Radiology from 2015-17. He is
active in imaging research and has published widely.

International Faculty
Dr. Jonathan Smith
Consultant in Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust since 2007. He has special
interest in imaging and treating cancers, using brachytherapy to treat
prostate cancer and microwave, IRE, cryotherapy and ultrasound to treat
lung, liver and kidney cancers. He was audit lead for 5 years after
publishing his own mistakes at ECR and has since taken up the post of
Chair of the Royal College of Radiology Events and Learning (REAL)
Panel. He is editor the Royal College of Radiology (RCR) REAL newsletter
which publishes real life cases with the emphasis on learning from
errors.
Dr. Sajid Butt
Consultant musculoskeletal radiologist at the Royal National Orthopedic
Hospital, Stanmore which is the tertiary referral hospital for musculo-
skeletal diseases in South-East of England. He has special interest in
Spinal and Sports imaging. He has multiple international publications
with research interest in bone and soft tissue tumours, cervical spine
injections &RF ablation of bone tumors. He is a senior member of the
team that makes up London Sarcoma Service. He is also involved in
conducting national and international level teaching courses for
radiology and orthopaedic trainees.
Dr. Syed Babar Ajaz
Consultant MSK Radiologist at Imperial College NHS Trust. Specialising
in sports imaging, Syed regularly sees elite athletes and provides the
imaging for a range of international sporting events. Syed is a seasoned
speaker, speaking nationally and internationally. Syed was the founding
member of the DubaiFRCR course and is the current President of the
London Sheffield Global teaching initiative. He has published extensively
in peer reviewed journals and is the MSK editor of the Clinical Radiology
journal of RCR.
Dr. Robin Proctor
Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in musculoskeletal
radiology based in the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS
Foundation Trust. He has worked in a number of roles locally including
Clinical Lead, Clinical Director and Deputy Medical Director. Robin has a
keen interest in medical education, particularly how it can help grow the
NHS workforce by international collaboration and reciprocal learning,
and he also helped start the “Global Radiology” project.

Dr. Timothy Beale
Consultant Radiologist & lead Head & Neck Imaging in University College
London hospital. He is Vice president (president elect) European Society
of head and neck radiology (ESHNR) 2020-2023. He is also past head and
neck lead for the Royal College of Radiologists. He is the radiology
advisor for Journal of Laryngology and Otology and radiology reviewer
for multiple diverse radiology journals. Dr. Beale has published over 50
head and neck related papers in peer-reviewed journals and provided
chapters for several general radiology head and neck textbooks.
Dr. Imran Syed
Consultant Interventional Radiologist and Clinical Lead for the Depart-
ment of Radiology Basildon University Hospital and regional MSE Group
Clinical Lead for Interventional Radiology. Dr Syed has introduced novel
Interventional Endovascular techniques and novel Urological Interven-
tional procedures since joining MSE. Dr Syed has published extensively.
He has co-authored the Uroradiology Chapter for the Leading Radiology
Book worldwide, Chapman & Nakielny.
Dr. Muhammad Imran
Consultant Radiologist at James Cook University Hospital, (South Tees
Hospitals,NHS Trust), UK. He trained in clinical oncology and later on as a
Radiologist. He has particular interest in general adult/emergency
radiology and diagnostic/interventional oncoradiology. Dr Imran is very
passionate about teaching medical education with extensive experience
in teaching & examining. He is currently an honorary tutor & examiner for
Newcastle University Medical School, UK.
Dr. Sakib Moghul
Consultant Interventional Radiologist in Mid and South Essex NHS Trust.
He studied for his medical degree in Peninsula College of Medicine and
Dentist in Exeter; completed radiology and interventional training in the
East of England deanery with an interventional radiology fellowship in
Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. He has a subspecialty interest in
vascular, uroradiology, and interventional oncology. He is a keen teacher
and has been involved with Dr Khans Teaching (DKT) since its formation.
