Abstract:
The Agri-nauts solution is developed to tackle pressing agricultural challenges, particularly those
related to water management and climate unpredictability. Farmers globally face severe issues due to
extreme weather conditions such as droughts, floods, and fluctuating soil moisture, which are often
difficult to anticipate. Furthermore, pest outbreaks and plant diseases exacerbate these problems,
leading to crop failures, reduced yields, and significant economic losses. Traditional decision-making,
which relies on experience, is no longer sufficient to cope with the complexity of modern
environmental challenges.
Our mobile application integrates AI-driven predictive models and satellite data from multiple sources,
enabling farmers to make informed decisions in real-time. The app's key features include:
1. Future Predictions: Leveraging deep learning models (ARIMA-RNN and LSTM) trained on
real-time data sourced from NASA’s Earth Observation systems, our application provides
highly accurate forecasts on soil moisture, drought conditions, air quality, and potential flood
risks. With accuracy rates exceeding 90%, these forecasts empower farmers to optimise
irrigation practices, prepare for drought conditions, and take preemptive actions against
environmental risks.
2. Plant Disease Detection: Utilising a computer vision model with 92% accuracy, the
application offers a plant disease detection tool, allowing farmers to identify diseases by
simply taking a photo of their crops. This feature helps in timely intervention, suggesting
treatments based on the specific disease identified.
3. AI Chatbot: A chatbot feature supports farmers by answering agricultural queries, providing
AI-generated insights, and offering instant advice on everyday farming challenges.
4. Community Hub: The app fosters a collaborative environment through a community platform
where users can share experiences, seek advice, and access the latest scientific research
and solutions tailored to their farming needs.
5. Marketplace: The integrated marketplace allows users to buy and sell agricultural products,
including fertilisers, pesticides, and farming equipment, creating a seamless link between
innovation and practice.
Scalability and Future Development:
Agri-nauts hasthe potential to make a significant real-world impact by improving agricultural
productivity, mitigating risks from climate-related issues, and contributing to global food security. The
solution can be easily scaled to incorporate additional data sources or expand its AI models for more
precise and diverse predictions. With its intuitive design, the application is accessible to farmers
regardless of their technological literacy, making it a powerful tool for enhancing decision-making at all
levels of agriculture.
